Spruce Moose Lodge and Cottages is a charming 1850 New England Bed and Breakfast. The estate is located in the quaint village of North Conway, part of New Hampshire's scenic Mount Washington Valley in the White Mountains.

Quiet, residential location. The entire complex is surrounded by spruce and hemlock trees which make the atmosphere very relaxing.

A beautiful bed and breakfast owned by wonderful people nestled quietly and within walking distance to downtown North Conway. The perfect place for family, friends, and couples to enjoy all the seasonal beauties that northern NH has to offer. 

Check em out, stay a night or a weekend. Whether you are in the main house a cabin or a Jacuzzi room, the spruce moose never disappoints.

We stayed here for a period of four nights. There are two primary options on how to stay - first, there's the lodge, which offers a traditional B&B experience. Alternatively, there's the cottages, which don't include breakfast, but have kitchens and are more private - as well as being dog friendly (as is one room in the lodge, if your dog is well behaved enough - ours isn't).

The cottage was nicely set up, and you can see photos of the options on the website that are quite accurate. I'd say that you should consider what kind of location you're looking for, though. North Conway, NH is a very touristy town, with lots of shops, restaurants and attractions. While there's very nice scenery nearby, this isn't a secluded spot in the mountains, so if you're looking for that, this isn't a good fit.

However, if you're looking for a nice cozy spot within walking distance of shops, restaurants, a scenic train ride, etc., this will fit the bill quite nicely. Especially if you're looking to bring your dog with you.

Last note - the owners are friendly and helpful, and dog lovers, themselves - but our dog did not get along well at all with one of the resident dogs that roam the grounds. No idea if it was just a personality conflict or if it's a territory thing, but we had to scoop our little guy up twice to avoid him being attacked by an aggressive terrier that charged him on sight. The owners did warn me about him, but I was surprised when it actually happened, nonetheless, and we had to react fast. There was a much larger dog that seemed quite friendly and good natured - I'd have liked to have let him interact more with our dog, but on both occasions he wandered over, the smaller one crashed the party soon after. This isn't a massive issue - in the five days we were present, we saw the other dog twice for a total of three minutes or so, and it wouldn't stop us from coming back - but still, it left an impression and it's something to be aware of should you bring a pet. If you're not bringing the dog, of course, it's irrelevant.

Note: this review was up for all of ten minutes when the owners reached out about the above, and will likely be keeping a closer watch on the dog in question in the future. They're very responsive, which is a great sign. If it isn't clear, I recommend this location if it sounds like what you're looking for. :)

Nellie & Leon top the charts as Innkeepers.   I am an avid motorcycle traveler and have stayed with them numerous times over the last several years.  Their B&B is comfortable, welcoming and clean with wonderful breakfasts each time I visit.  As a repeat customer, I have come to enjoy the welcome feeling each time I pull into the inn.  Even their pups are sweet and love all the guests that come and go.  The lodge is within walking distance to downtown North Conway where you can find some great restaurants & shops to enjoy.  Looking forward to my next stay!

The hosts are wonderful, and so are their lovely pups :) Cannot wait to go back! Breakfast was wonderful and it felt like we were eating with family. Just such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Very close to the village of N.Conway and all the delicious local food. The jacuzzi in our bungalow was so nice, and the room was well stocked with items you may forget to bring.
