I have never encountered such RUDE "customer service representatives". Blind transfers, snooty attitudes and non-helpful people. Where the HELL do you guys find these people to hire? I had a simple one minute question about a FAX NUMBER. It's not listed in the Phone Numbers on the St. Joseph's Website. Fix that problem and you won't have people calling for it. Flabbergasted at these people and I haven't even stepped inside!!!!

Was at st joes aug.25 2017. Was in waiti ng room over 4 hours. Did labwork n xray n ekg then back to waiting for the results. Went back with nurse to redo bloodwork since two hours went by and labwork for heart enzyme tests were no longer good since lab didnt process in time. I am a hard stick for needles. Nurse did one stick nothing no blood came out she then USED SAME NEEDLE TO STICK ME AGAIN. NOT SUPOSE TO REUSE NEEDLES ! She then wanted me to go back to waiting room and someone from lab would go out there and draw my blood. Also doctor and nurse came into waiting room to go over a gentleman s tests results with him in front of everyone in waiting room. About 20 people. This violates hippa rules. I was treated like garbage. Went in with chest pain which i am scheduled sept 8 2017 for heart stent. My doctor told me to go to ER. Ladies before me were there over 6 hours. One was 82 yrs old with chest pain. No one seemed to care. I left after nurse tried to restick me with same needle. She said she does it all the time to safe on hospital costs. Absurd. I will be reporting this to hospital and nursing board and doctor for violating hippa rules. Horrible hospital. After i have stent in heart put in i will never go back. No wonder this hospital got a D rating. I usually go to tacoma general. Mary spears

My son was taken to the St. Joseph ER with a suspected kidney stone. He was in excruciating pain. His vitals were taken and he was told to sit in the waiting room. I live out of state, but fortunately my sister was there with him. After a couple of hours of watching my son writhe and gasp in pain, and also watching people who had come in later being taken back before my son (despite my sister pleading for help), my son's vitals were taken again, still in the waiting room. At that point his blood pressure was dangerously high, and the nurse said he would be next. Unfortunately, he wasn't. A nurse then told my sister that "he could have to wait nine hours, which happened last week." Finally, he was taken back. He was then given an injection of pain medication that helped a lot, although it did not take the pain away. He had gotten to the hospital at 9:30, and did not have a CT scan until 1:30 a.m., four hours later. Why in the world could they not have given him the pain medication while he was in the waiting room?? Why make him suffer in agony for hours? They did nothing but take his vitals before giving him the pain meds in the back. Do they enjoy seeing people suffer in horrible pain?? This is inexcusable. Our previous experiences with St. Joe's have been positive, but this was a case of horrible neglect. The staff could have eased his pain while he waited, but they chose not to. I understand that emergency rooms are busy places, but there is no reason the staff could not have alleviated my son's pain while he waited to be seen. This incident showed an incredible lack of professionalism and, most important, an extreme lack of compassion. Shame on the staff.

The lack of communication with this hospital is uncalled for. When my loved one was left in their care I can't get a real answer from any of the nurses, or the don't answer the phones it took 4 people calling to get somebody to answer the dang phone. Unbelievable

Checked in morning 4.30am emergency, took about 20mins just to get my info, the emergency lobby waiting area stink, lot of garbage on floor, nobody clean it, feel not comfortable at all. But nurse and doctor is very helpful, they hear me, and take my consents as their consents.
