In the spirit of disclosure, I currently work in Administration at HealthSouth. I feel that I'm in a unique position to judge quality of care provided by hospitals as I've previously worked in multiple hospital systems across the valley. HealthSouth is an outstanding facility. HealthSouth's dedication to the craft of rehabilitation and caring is the difference. I can assure you that our team of administration and employees are committed to providing great care and helping patients on their road to recovery after illness, surgery, etc. We have a fantastic group of therapists, nurses, physicians, and other staff. Although its not appropriate for me to comment on the few negative reviews posted here, the hospital goes out of its way to resolve any concerns. It may reassure you to know that we currently run a 95% "would recommend" approval ratings based on surveys returned by patients or their families. We'd appreciate if more patients would post reviews. If you or your family is in the need of inpatient rehabilitation, I'd strongly recommend you consider HealthSouth. Onsite tours are available to family/patients who are considering placement here.

My wife has spent two four-month stints at this rehabilitation hospital, and will have a third next year, for a debilitating neurological disease. We know the staff very well, respect them, and have friends among them. Even knowing that there are and have been issues we've encountered during our time there, both my wife and I would definitely recommend this facility for any inpatient acute rehabilitation need. The Great: - The rehab staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and go above and beyond to help you improve. - The doctors were stellar (especially Dr. Rada, and Dr. Djurich). - The upper level of the nursing staff are caring and excellent. - On the whole, everyone there is focused on your improvement and getting you back to normal life. - The facility itself is clean and the rooms are nice and large. The Not-so-great: - When they have to use out-of-house help (e.g. agency nurses), especially the night, weekend, or holiday people, the quality of the help went down dramatically. - They could certainly use some capital investment into getting better equipment. I got the feeling that the administration turned a deaf ear to the equipment needs of the therapy staff. - The nursing staff needs training on the use of some of their equipment (e.g. patient lifts) and on other ways to make transfers. - My wife has celiac disease, so she needs a gluten-free meal. After some initial difficulties during our first round there, they have resolved those issues, but the variety of options is extremely thin. All in all, it is simply the best hospital setting we've ever been at, and are planning to return soon to (hopefully) complete her therapy.

Exceptional caring nursing staff. Excellently trained internist and Physical Medicine Rehabilitation Physicians. Excellent physical therapist occupational therapist and speech therapist. We have been extremely pleased with the care and progress of my wife while being treated here at HealthSouth

I' am a nurse at an assisted living. We have been working with Health South for some time and have had great experiences. Their new MD there is really thorough and has helped my residents maintain their stability and be able to come back to their homes and their SW's are all very friendly and easy to work with. I will continue to recommend this place to my patients and their families.

I would NEVER recommend this facility to anyone with an elderly family member who needs maximum assistance. This was a true horror story! My mother had a stroke and was only able to barely transfer into a wheel chair, with help. It was made aware in all of her charts, as well as charts in the bathroom of her limitations. She was dropped twice in one day due to aids and nurses NOT reading signs and charts. After talking to several staff member and charge nurses, they assured us that it wouldn't happen again. Two days later. She was left UNATTENDED in the bathroom and she fell off of the toilet and injured her shoulder. I then contacted every administrator I could get hold of including her case worker as well as Chris Rock, a quality management personnel. He made little attempt to make the situation right, saying that they have posted signs in her room and supposedly discussed the issue with multiple staff members. The facility's CEO's assistant NEVER called me back after I left a very concerning message on her voice mail. The very next week, after multiple family members complained, someone AGAIN tried to move my mother without appropriate staff!! We then made the arrangements to move my mother out of this deplorable facility!! It's heartbreaking to see your family members go through such a hard event, but then, to have the people that are suppose to take care of them and keep them safe, not care to do their job is outrageous and unacceptable!!! I will say that my feelings do not extend to Dr K, or therapists Allison or Cynthia. They were all amazing with my mom. PLEASE do not trust this facility to keep your loved one safe!
