To the alumni that posted comments relative to smoking and ABET accreditation, I would like to share the following in my role as SET Dean: 1. We have become an almost no-tobacco usage campus. The many cigarette butts around our buildings prompted me to become one of the principal architects of the policy that has been in place for over a year. As with major shifts, culture change does take a little time! Having said that, I do not recall anybody complaining about the cigarette butts. 2. The Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Engineering programs have been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET since 1983, 1986, and 2009 respectively. This information is publicly posted on our site and ABET's. Now that we have graduates from the Mechanical Engineering program, we will be submitting that for initial review in January 2018. As always, I welcome direct contact from our alumni, this is helpful in our quest for excellence!

I was an adjunct here. I have taught at UTSA , Trinity and St.Mary's. I would not recommend to come here if you are a serious student and looking for research opportunities. The research is a joke here. I was a judge at their annular poster competition where the students highlight their research. The higher authorities are kind of blind towards cheating/plagiarizing and they reprimand the faculty if it is reported. I am not sure how that goes with Catholic-Marianist principle. I thought being ethical is one of the important tenets of Catholic-Marianists. Most of the students who are here , are trying to buy a degree. The student quality is very low. Since the university only earns from the student revenue , I understand their helplessness. From my conversation with students , I found out many have DACA status. I am not sure if this place is deliberately admitting DACA students. I am thinking to report this to the immigration authority and the senators.

Staff and students friendly and helpful. Only drawback is no universal wifi on campus for guests.

While I can't say my undergraduate experience here was ideal, nor nurturing, nor substantial in terms of "education" (I've gotten more out of the "real world"), I've got to say that their registrar is excellent. Keep up the good work.
