Took the Megabus from Cleveland to Chicago last weekend. Excellent experience. The transit center in Cleveland is attractive and clean. Coach was spotless and on time, staff and passengers polite, and the ride was pleasant. The drop off point in Chicago was the only disappointment. Not really a bus stop, just a dreary side street location. They need to do better.

The bus arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes late at the departure station. Nobody gave any explanation or expressed any concern for the delayed passengers. Many passengers had already left and decided to use some other form of transportation by the time the bus had arrived. One passenger who stayed to wait explained to me that "this is typical", and that she had waited over an hour for the Megabus before. When the bus did finally arrive, the journey from Cleveland to Chicago went rather well. The driver made excellent time, and only made one pit-stop at a rest station in Indiana along the way. The bus and its facilities were in excellent condition. I felt rather comfortable along the ride. Given the value, and the good riding conditions, I would recommend Megabus to anyone...as long as they weren't concerned with being on time.

Unreliable. I had a bus that was supposed to departure at 2:05 AM From Cleveland to Chicago. I stood outside for 2 Hrs in 17 degree weather. I was very furious. Later, when the MegaBus hotline finally gets to work in the morning I called them. They stated that since the bus arrived at 4:20 AM and in fact arrived that I would not get my refund back!! They stated that it left the bus stop at 4:37 AM. That is 2 HRs AND 35 MINS LATE!! I Do Not know what kind of system they are running there, but this is Some Sort of Nonsense! Additionally, I called before I left at 12:20 AM to confirm the bus coming, and they told me that "it will be there on time".. CLEARLY NOT!! To add to all of this I lost all of my connecting flights and connecting connecting flights to India and I lost over $2K.. I explained this to the megabus reps, however they only offered to give me $16 back if I bought another ticket.. This shows how much they truly care about their customers. I usually always go on megabus and this is never a problem, but do realize that they have absolutely NO care for their customers and will not treat you right.. I was extremely mad and I WILL NEVER RIDE THEIR BUSES AGAIN! Please keep note of this when traveling MegaBus.

I have used it to and from Chicago several times. Easy to use and a lot cheaper that flying or driving. You can do work or read or sleep if you so desire. I recommend it highly!

Very disappointed. My mother came from Knoxville, TN to visit me in Ohio. The trip from Knoxville was fine, if not 15 minutes late. However, I just dropped her off this morning to go back home. The bus was 1 hour 50 minutes late. When I called to find out where the bus was, I was gold to call back in in fifteen minutes. I did, and was told they still had no word on the bus and was asked to call back in another 20 minutes. The third time I called, they still did not know where there bus was and was asked to call back in another 20 minutes. I asked if my mother could exchange her ticket for another seat on the same bus tomorrow. The "customer service" rep I talked to said my mother could purchase another ticket if she wanted to, but she would have to wait on the bus. At this point I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was told a supervisor could not assist me any more they the "customer service" rep could. I said I understand,but that I wanted to express my frustration, and I was told again that I could not I asked to speak to a supervisor. When I told her I was surprised that I could not talk to someone in charge and that they were the only company I heard of who did that, she told me she was going to disconnect the call in order to help other customers and hung up. I called back and got another "customer service" rep and said I wanted to speak to a supervisor. I got the same runaround and was told I would have to e-mail my complaint. I said I would, as well as told him I would contact the Better Business Bureau. The only thing Megabus has going for them is their low fares. Their customer service is terrible. But, I guess you get what you pay for.
