This is a 100-yr-old inn with down-the-hall bathrooms. If you think this is charming, you might like it. There was no coffee pot in the room or in the lobby. If you think this is fine, you might like it. Our room was up some narrow stairs (like a 100-yr-old inn would be). If you think this is cute, you might like it. We had to jiggle the key to get in the front door after we got back from dinner. If you think this is quaint, you might like it. The room was clean. The beds were comfortable-enough. The (shared) bathroom down-the-hall was clean-enough. There was a mini fridge and mini microwave in the room; we used neither. As we were checking out, we told the proprietor that we were going to find some coffee. He explained that there is no coffee house in town...as he sipped some coffee and didn't even offer a cup. IF this room was $45-$50, I'd have thought it a steal and given 3-4 stars. It wasn't. The bill was $72. In this area, $70+ should get your own clean bathroom and some coffee. I wasn't impressed. I won't ever stay here again and wouldn't recommend it.

The place looked like it was last cleaned in the 70's. The beds smelled of moth balls and the bathrooms had a big bottle of 2 in 1 soap for all to use. I paid for two nights but early the second morning my plans changed. I had to call the guy because he does stay there and he states he would refund my second night. Well two months later I call asking about it and he stated they decided not to refund my money because I didn't give 24hrs notice. I didn't even have that much notice of my plan change. Oh, and they decided not to call and let me know. Horrible arrive in a place that needs a major overhaul.

We stayed here for a weekend while in the area for some high performance driving at High Plains Raceway. Jim, the owner, is very engaging and the accommodations are older but very clean and nice. The bathrooms are shared but nice and clean, and there was no competition while we were there. Jim is a "car guy", so if you are too ask him to see his museum. It's very interesting and Jim is fun to talk cars with. Stay here, you won't regret it.

My wife and I were traveling from Grand Junction CO to Cleveland OH (home) and didn't quite make it as far as we would have liked.. Called around all over near Denver for a hotel with no luck.. Decided to try a few places further east and was fortunate enough to find The Strasburg Inn.. Spoke with the owner Jim and he said "yes" that he had a room.. We pulled up in a rain storm in our 16 ft truck and immediately Jim was very nice and helpful, advising where to park our moving truck.. The Inn itself is small and very cozy.. My wife and I opted for the room with the bathroom as after flying for 6 hours and driving for 8 hours, all we really wanted or needed was a shower and a bed.. The room itself was very clean and well kept - same for the bathroom.. We showered, laid down, watched about 5 mins of TV and promptly fell asleep.. We awoke the next day early to hit the road and was very well rested.. Left Jim the key and a note thanking him.. It is not your typical hotel and that was fine with us.. We would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone considering staying or needing a place to spend the night in or near Strasburg..

I was driving east from Denver, headed for Strasburg, when I read what Walter wrote and thought, "I gotta try that place." The inn exudes a comfortable atmosphere from a few decades ago, and it works. The furnishings are quirky and comfortable, and I immediately felt at home. The owner, Jim, was pleasant and fun to talk to, so much so that my dinner got cold while we were chatting about old cars and motorcycles. If you want sterile chrome and glass, go somewhere else; if you want a comfortable, down-to-earth stay, try the Strasburg Inn.
