This has storiche hotel has comforts that still make you feel like you're not reliant on others. The hotel itself is steeped in historic intrigue as well as fanciful stories. The staff is full of historic reminiscence and intrigue and actually gets you or imagination to fit within whichever century you in desire to be in. The decorations and furniture fit the time let you step back in to.

Not a five star place as Michelin would have it, but five star in practice. I visit here once every year. I don't have to, but I'm drawn back. Everything about it is homey. Good food, great people, history -- just a good feeling.

Beautiful old building with a very good restaurant. Food was great, presented well, and portions were ample. The wait staff was attentive and helpful.

The hotel is beautiful in an old building complex which was previously a hospital (converted to hotel early 20th century). So while you experience early 20th century atmosphere but the amenities are a little bit outdated (for example there is no elevator if you're going to stay on the top level). But the rooms are clean and we haven't had any issue during the Summer and Winter staying here. The lobby was hot during the Summer though. Overall, great experience after staying here three nights in three different occasions.

Thanksgiving 2017  When we went through the buffet at 1:30, there was NO TURKEY...  The dining room was chilly, so we lost the race to eat quickly before the already tepid food turned cold. This is a common practice in "fast food" places to get people in and out quickly, but at $30 a plate (small plate at that) I don't want to be rushed.
We've been going there for years, but have seen a sharp decline in the past two.  Five years ago I'd have given 5 stars.  This was the last time for us.
