I totally enjoyed my experience here! The stylist was professional and friendly, I felt right at home.

I was a last minute walk in. The shop was about to close in 20 minutes and Autumn so humbly accepted my request. I was apprehensive about getting a full sew in at the last minute but she has a way of making you feel comfortable; similar to an at home welcoming vibe in a professional setting. Autumn is very knowledgeable about her craft and she answered several questions I asked concerning my hair. She's very present and open-minded and she wasn't pushy or seemingly rushy. I'm new to the area but I think she has a permanent client. Oh, did I mention she slays?! Yep.

I really enjoyed my experience at Silk Studio 23. I saw Autumn Thomas and she was a great stylist. Autumn was funny, personable and professional as well as my hair is laid with many compliments received. I also came in very undecisive about what I wanted to get done and she was very patient and educated me about my options. I really enjoyed the experience and will be back soon.

I would not recommend coming to this salon. I'm natural and I find that the main beautician was rough on my head. During the washing process, it felt like she was clawing my scalp. I had to ask her to be gentle because it was really starting to hurt. Plus, there are surprise fees! I went in for the Silk Press which I believed included the shampoo, deep condition, and straightening for $45. While I was in the chair getting my hair straightened, the lady informed me that the curls I wanted were an extra $25. Okay, so I was ready to pay $70. Then, when I got to the counter she told me my total was $85! I asked where the extra charge came from and she told me it was for the deep condition. Since when do the charge $15 for a feature that is already included in most beautician's silk press? If deep conditioning is extra, what features are apart of the silk press? I was ripped off.

I visited the salon in McDonough and College Park and both experiences were amazing. Although the McDonough location was extremely far for me, and I was pregnant at the time, I received high quality service. I've been natural for almost 9 years and usually will get my hair pressed at least 3 - 4 times a year, strictly for a trim because I'm extremely tender-headed. My experience a week ago at the College Park location was wonderful! I set my appointment with Ej and the junior stylist washed my hair. She continued to ask questions related to my comfort with the temperature of the water and my natural hair journey. My biggest fear is always when stylist attempt to blow dry my hair... Not exactly sure what products were used but again the junior stylist did a great job. I even shared my last experience and she thought I was trying to hint that she wasn't doing a great job. After getting my hair blow dried, Ej discussed the health of my hair and that I simply needed a trim. I put her on the spot and requested she cut my hair. She said I didn't need a cut, but I explained that I wanted more shape and a fresh look. It didn't take her long at all to make me fabulous. My overall experience was wonderful from the moment I walked through the door. Keep up the good work and expect to see me more now that you're closer!
