I had my Impreza taken to Subaru of Merrillville in March 2018 for some diagnoses. The Service Department suggested replacing the short block. I chose not to go that pricey route. After picking my vehicle back up, I realized that the Service Department did not replace several parts the mass air sensor, timing belt, serpentine belt, fan or fan box, timing covers, pulleys, bolts, or radiator after the diagnosis. Thankfully when the general manager, Joe Cortese, became aware of the issue, he was able to understand their level of service was unacceptable and provided a satisfactory resolution in a timely fashion.

Joe Amore let me negotiate close to the margin, and that’s why I gave him my second purchase in 15 months. I will go back to Joe in the future for sure! Andrew MacNamera was a weird puzzle to me in the Finance room and final paperwork. I wish it had been better. Instead I felt even an aggression and “bite” to some of the things he was saying to me. Not much regard or rapport from him for some odd reason. I hope any future interaction there will improve! Satisfied with an Outback and Legacy to show for it. Thanks!

Buying experience has always been pleasant for us. However, service department is a complete waste. Kyle in the service department is not helpful at all. I had our 2014 outback in for service and a check engine last Friday. We have the extended warranty on the car. So, they fixed it and I paid the $100 deductible according to the warranty. Here we are within5 days the light comes on again and car starts dying while driving. Take it back in Tuesday night for an 7:30 am appointment on Wednesday morning. When I was calling to check on it during the day, I asked if I would be charged a diagnostic charge of $65 and $100 deductible again for the same issues. Kyle said, it depends if it’s something different. I explained, it was just in for service with the same problems that I shouldn’t be charged these charges again. I asked him to please speak with a manager or higher up if needed to ensure a good experience and fair resolution. He began to get out with me and tell me I was threatening him. I about blew my lid and just hung up. When I called back the following day, he begins to tell me that I threatened to come into the store. I said, that isn’t what was said and my 15 year old heard the entire thing. He began saying I can let him do his job or deal with the manager, I told him to hand it over to his manager (not in a pleasant voice either) as I was tir3d of dealing with this kid. 2 days later and they still have no clue what is going on with the car. Save yourself the trouble, service your cars elsewhere.

This dealership discriminates against women. They are extremely dishonest about car pricing and unwilling to negotiate with their price. Was quick to take a deposit, beyond slow to return. We don't deal with dealers that won't negotiate.

This is the ONLY place I will willingly take out cars. Everytime I've been forced to take them somewhere else it always ends badly.
