Stay away. Better looking at options in Salt Lake or Seattle. Highly unresponsive and services are over valued.

Our dog was in pain and we had visited our vet twice in one week with no resolution. We are in Northnern Idaho and drove to SunValley in one day for Dr. Acker to see our dog. Our dog went in for surgery that day. There was a clear change in his disposition the following day and we were greatful for the immediate response and attention given to us and to our four legged friend. The professionalism and discharge information was top of the line. I can' t say thank you enough for seeing my dog so quickly and providing him with relief. Greatly appreciated and thankful.

I came in to get some help for the back of my five year old Doxie. My dog is in a lot of pain. I can hardly pick him up to take him outside. This clinic came highly recommended by my local vet. My local vet took x-rays and gave me a round of prednisone to help with inflammation. I called this office on Sunday and had a person answer the phone who couldn’t even give me directions to the place. I did manage to have the vet call me back and talk to me about the issues of my dog, but I would have to wait a couple days to get in because he was at a class out of town. I called the clinic back and made an appointment. I arranged to take the whole day off work because from what I was told the MRI and surgery would be an all-day event. My vacation time is limited and VERY valuable to me. I got to the clinic with x-rays in hand to discuss these with the vet. I met the vet. He shook my hand and gave me a cup of coffee. Then we went into the exam room where he felt my dog’s back and proceeded to give me a quick slide show with pictures of spines. This was very fast without giving me any opportunities for questions. He took my x-ray disk and left the room to look at them. I was hoping to get an opportunity to see the x-rays and go over them with the vet. The vet came back into the room and said something to the affect that my dog’s back was bad and that my dog was not a candidate for surgery. He recommended more prednisone and told me he’d send me home with a couple rounds and some literature on canine backs. The Pharmacy tech came out and talked to me about how to taper off the prednisone and gave me some literature that was actually a CEU handout for DVM’s to get their continuing education credits (I need a frickin vet dictionary to understand this). The only professional in that office was the Pharmacy guy. The staff answered phones and ate cookies in front of the clients. Literally, they ate cookies behind the desk. The vet spent quite a bit of time talking about how dedicated he was and how people from Texas and California sent their dogs to him for joint surgery. FYI: I don’t give a rip who ships you dogs or from where. All I care about is what you can do for MY DOG. If you can't help my dog, as a professional you should refer me to someone who can or have enough respect to tell the truth in layman's language. In short, the staff in the front office is totally disconnected from the vets. When I am told by an office to be prepared for a procedure I expect that the procedure is going to be done OR there will be a good explanation. This guy may be a genius when it comes to mitigating canine joints (from the photo on his business card), but I wonder if he even gave a rip about my dog. I’m out a good chunk of change and a full day of even more valuable vacation time. My dog is still in pain with the prednisone and I don’t know what to do besides spend another day of my dwindling vacation time and drive to Boise to find a surgeon that actually cares about my dog’s pain. If you have a dog that needs joint surgery this guy is probably for you. If you have a beloved little dog with a back issue you’d do better to shop around. This clinic gets one star for existing and another star for the vet calling me back on a Sunday and getting me a cup of coffee during the appointment.
