Had a fantastic experience here. Got a great deal -- they ran a "$75 off on purchases over $300" promotion -- and received excellent customer service on an exchange. Ask for Leo, he's super helpful!

I wanted to return/exchange a pair of sunglasses that I had bought in another sunglass hut, this was within 30 days of purchase. The right latch had a problem, this was the reason. The two ladies working there should be given a customer service manual. They tried to fix the problem themselves for many minutes, but totally lacked the agility to do anything with glasses, failed to fix it and caused scratches on the metallic covering. They sent me to another glass shop in the mall to see if I can get it fixed (and the lady there fixed the problem in a minute, didn't charge anything for it). The ladies at the SH store wouldn't believe my story, implied that I had caused the defect, and insisted that they wouldn't take it back. What about the sunglass hut guarantee that is printed in the receipt? What about "the customer is always right"? These ladies who were so nice to the other customers trying on glasses were totally rude and impatient with us, they thought I was a crook trying to get rid of a pair of glasses that I demolished and did not refrain from letting this be obvious to me. I felt very insulted. If you are going to buy glasses from SH, do not rely so much on their guarantee and try another store rather than dealing with the two insulting ladies at the Stanford Shopping Center store. They are nice and courteous until they sell their stuff to you.

I walked in to buy a pair of Ray Ban glasses, but wasn't sure of size availability of the ones I want. There was another shopper looking at glasses when I walked in. The associate (the only one working on this day) was talking on the phone, presumably with a friend of his because he was speaking loudly in Spanish and laughing. The other shopper looked seemed impatient, looked back a few times for assistance. He received none. This went on for more than 10 minutes. The other shopper sighed again and finally left. I'm fumbling with glasses of different sizes and had really wanted to ask a question, but the associate was still on the phone. He finally got off the phone, so I decided to wait and see what he'd do. He just leaned back behind the counter, stood and stare. I can see his reflection in the mirror and through the dark shades I was trying on. Not a hello. Not a question if I needed assistance. Finally I turned around and asked if there are more sizes to the style I was looking at. He said "no they only come in one size." I said, "but there are several sizes here, and I was looking for something a little smaller." His reply was, "well, we only have one size. Maybe you can find your size at another store." I couldn't believe my ears. He was basically telling me to get lost. No recommendation for a different style, no offer to look at stock from another store. Does he talk like this to all his customers? Does Sunglass Hut fail miserably to put their hired associates through a basic customer service program? I will not shop at Sunglass Hut ever again. There are too many options in today's market for eye wear. I went down the sidewalk to iLori and bought a pair of Ray Ban glasses. Excellent help at iLori. Complete service failure at Sunglass Hut. By the way, the associate's name is Victor. Gel-spiked black hair, spoke with an accent and obviously possesses poor work ethics. But, really, who's at fault. His, or the company that hired him and failed at service quality control?
