These guys need to show more respect for people's time. I had an appointment and when I showed up, the office was closed and this was 2 hours after they were supposed to be open. I waited for 15 minutes before running into another gentleman who also had an appointment. He eventually called the main office and was told that the Durham office would not be open that day. I was very annoyed because I had booked an appointment and the least I expected was a phone call or an e-mail telling me to reschedule. I wasted 2 hours of my day to and from this appointment including wait time at the office just to find out that they were not opening that day. In my opinion that is just so rude. I am definitely taking my business elsewhere.

Everyone at Sunrise Dental Durham is friendly and helpful, as well as professional and experienced. In addition to that, I have a history of anxiety about going to the dentist. They always go above and beyond the call of duty to make sure I am calmed and reassured. I am cared for based on my individual needs and that means so much to me.

I will never refer anyone to this Dentist. First time going here to find out why my gums was bleeding when i brush and to do whatever needs to be done to get my dental health back good. Dr. Stevens spent plenty of time with me explaining to me my xray and what was going on and the treatment plan. She came up with a treatment plan to get my mouth back healthy again and i was so excited. The next day i get a call from the receptionist saying that i was misdiagnosed and now there is a copay taking my charges from $179. on the first visit to start treatment to $347. The cost is not the issue, the issue is i would think after spending so much time explaining to me what was going on there would have been no mistakes. After that call i got afraid of what if they are wrong, so i went to another dentist and he spent less time but was very thorough and will now be doing less work on my mouth still getting it back healthy again where it needs to be. Dr. Stevens was very nice and she did leave me a voice msg and an email apologizing for me being upset and not going thru with my treatment plan that she was unaware of that phone call made to me. Word of advice to this place, the receptionist should not be the one calling patients telling them anything concerning their health, it should be the Dr. that dealt with them.

This is the first place I have ever been to in my life where they close their office on the day of your appointment without even telling you!!! That is SO unprofessional! Never again!

Horrific. One of the most painful experiences of my life. I had gone one other time to get a root canal done. No big deal. They put a temporary crown on that would be replaced once the mold for my real crown was ready. This was where things went horror movie bad. They said the old crown would just "pop off," they'd put the new one on, and there'd be no need for lidocaine/novocaine. So they did not use any anesthetic. They tugged and pulled at the old crown, which the gum had grown around, and it was incredibly painful. They had to CUT the gum to remove the old crow. I told them it was very painful, and that they needed to numb it. I could also feel and taste it bleeding. With ZERO topical anesthetic, they then stuck a needle right into my gum, against my jaw bone, to the site of the removal. In that moment I could have confessed to anything. It took two or three more injections several minutes apart to numb the excruciating pain. To make things worse the crown didn't fit properly, so after trying to force it into what was probably now a bloody gaping hole, they had to saw some of it off to get it to fit. Because the injection was sloppy, I could still feel everything. Sweating and in tears, I was just praying for it to be over. It was straight torture. Unprofessional does not describe it. I did not know that kind of horror still existed in modern medicine. If you never want to experience medieval dental practices, then do not go to Sunrise Dental.
