This is the letter I sent to Sunshine Movers regarding our move. This says it all. 

I am writing to give you some feedback about the move that you did for us back in early October. As you may or may not know, this was a good move. Our move-in cost in excess of $10,000. Although we have been in the house for about a month, we are still doing quite a bit of unpacking. What we are discovering is that many of the items that were packed by the team that you sent out were very inappropriately packed. We are finding heavy items packed on top of fragile items, outdoor items packed in boxes with clothing and indoor items, Items improperly wrapped, delicate and fragile items that we ourselves had carefully wrapped and packed and needed only to be loaded and moved were subsequently unwrapped and repacked but inappropriately so. As an example, I had some professional airplane models that I had personally packed in bubble wrap and had placed in boxes that were then sealed. They were unboxed and packed in larger boxes with heavy items such as outdoor extension cords and folding chairs. Fortunately none of these items were broken. We found dirty shoes packed with clean clothing, we are finding open food items such as bags of flour and rice packed in with household items, tools, folding chairs and camp equipment.  We also noted the many if not most of the boxes were used boxes and in poor condition.  Many of the boxes having become partially collapsed and have come apart. 

Given the expense of this move, I would’ve expected new boxes and more expert packing especially since much of our belongings had never been unpacked from the prior move. Some of the packing was well done, but clearly some of the team that was sent was inexperienced.

I would appreciate a response to this email that addresses our concerns. We’ve moved a few times and as we are unpacking and trying to get everything organized and put away. We are realizing that this was the most inefficiently organized move we’ve had. Primarily the packing, but also the decision that was made to load a truck on the first day, only to have them unload it at the warehouse, only to have to load it again - charging us for the extra work. I have to say that I would definitely NOT recommend Sunshine Movers to anyone I know or who should ask.

First time using a moving company. They charge you for their gas and travel time while all others start the clock when they arrive. I contacted company after move done stating discrepancy; howrver, they stated travel time and moving time are explained in contract. They are not. I was supposed to receive a call from manager or owner and never got it. 
I will use another moving company in the future who takes the time to explain their contracts do there is no misunderstanding. I had 2 movers for a 3 man job. (All other moving companies quoted 3 men.) Seems company catches many of their customers off guard with the additional travel fee they add to the end. Buyer beware, better yet choose another moving company.

They just finished moving me from Atlanta to St Simons Island. On time, careful with my furniture, professional, polite. Charlene gave me great advice on how to save money on the packing. I was thrilled to get the same cheerful kind guys unloading who loaded. I truly felt well cared for.

We had a very smooth and successful move with Sunrise Moving.  The entire staff was very professional, prompt and took great care of our furnishings during the move.  I definitely recommend Sunrise Moving.
