Story

Sushi Seoul in Eugene was established in June, 2009. Family owned and operated by Steve and Diana Choi, Sushi Seoul offers fresh, hand-crafted sushi, Japanese food and Korean dishes.

Owner and Head Chef Steve Choi grew up in South Korea right by the ocean. As the son of a fisherman, Steve developed a deep knowledge for preparing a variety of fish from a young age. Prior to opening Sushi Seoul, Steve received his sushi training in South Korea as well as at Misako Sushi Restaurant in Eugene for several years.

This place was a nice sushi stop. The sushi we got had great taste and freshness. Nice comfortable setting and the only issue I had personally anlong with my partner was the seaweed made the sushi a little hard to eat. But all in all it was a great stop

My husband and I came in to try out a new sushi place. We love sushi and make it a regular yet special occasion dinner date. Sadly our experience was unprofessional and disappointing. Upon arriving around 4:50pm we were one of two customers in the entire establishment. The atmosphere was very nice and seemed like we had found a great new sushi place.We were seated by a hostess and told that our server would be with us momentarily and disappeared to what seemed like the kitchen area. A different lady came over shortly to drop off some water (who we thought was our sever) but didn't say anything and quickly left. We were given a menu and tried to find the happy hour specials since we knew time was of the essence because most happy hours end around 5. To our surprise, we just waited and waited for our server. Finally after ten minutes the hostess came out of the kitchen area and asked us if we wanted anything to drink. My husband asked what the happy hour specials were and she sassily stated that happy hour was over at 5pm. We stared at her a little confused because we had been waiting for our unknown server to arrive. When we inquired more about any happy hour specials she walked over to the hostess stand for a few moments and returned to our table to tell us that "the phone says 5:03pm" My husband and I looked at each other in disbelief as she walked away without saying anything and did not return to our table. Needless to say we left due to lack of service. We are also in the service industry and understand policies but this seemed like a total lack of customer care and service. Horrible experience, we will not be returning.

Any bad reviews here have got to be fake. Especially at the new (only) location. Food is BAM! good, atmosphere is awesome, staff are friendly. THE BEST SUSHI IN EUGENE. They even remember my name, and I don't even live in Eugene.

We've always loved Sushi Seoul! Tonight on Christmas, we decided we would get it to treat ourselves. However, after walking the short distance from our house to their restaurant we realized that they had moved locations. :( (this was after we had placed an order ahead of time) With no transportation and noone available to give us a ride we called them to warn them that we wouldn't be able to pick up the food and that we were very sorry for wasting their time. In response to this, they went out of their way to deliver all the way to us from downtown which is usually outside of their range. I swear every experience we have with them is a great one and I would gladly recommend them to anyone I know!

AMAZING quality! I have eaten sushi all over the U.S., but this restaurant served the most delicious salmon sashimi. Their miso soup is the bomb. I didn’t know it could be that delicious.
