Sweet Lake Biscuits & Limeade

About

Hand-made from scratch with love, limes, and Rock & Roll

Story

Sweet Lake got our start selling hand-made fresh mint limeade at the farmers market. After several years of customers waiting in long lines to get our goods, we built a brick and mortar location that could be open all year, and created an innovative menu of food to go along with our delicious drinks.

This locally owned shop is the perfect place for a solid breakfast in Salt Lake City and a 5-10 minute drive from the Temple Square area. It's a friendly, casual place to meet up with a friend before kicking off the day. I came in to catch up with a friend before a business meeting! Of course, you must order the biscuits. Don't blame me if you start to daydream about them. A big breakfast for two with coffee ran about $25, which is very reasonable for farm to table fare.

Really delicious biscuit sandwiches so tall you need to eat with a knife and fork. Orange Raspberry limeade was really good too. Especially delectable was that quinoa and potato hash browns. But for the good food and drink you have to pay quite a bit of money, and I'm not sure how much I'll go back because of the price. A 15 ounce glass of limeade was about $5. My total cost for breakfast, because I added avocado to my sandwich, was almost $20. If I'm rating just the food it gets four stars but when you incorporate the price I have to drop it down to three.

This diner was absolutely incredible. Amazing comfort breakfast paired with a delicious mint limeade. I could eat their biscuits all day and their fried chicken was one of the best I've ever had! My only complaint is that the restaurant was very tiny; making it feel hot and crammed, leading to longer wait times. However, the wait was well worth it!

Bit of a wait but well worth it I would recommend getting one of their homemade banana frosted oatmeal cookies to hold you over for the meal coming. Boy this is some great food. I would recommend the Biscuit Benedict with all the add one (pictured below). I took my bro-in-law here and we both ordered it and he declared it was the best breakfast he ever had. I think I agree with him. The limeades are incredible as well, I recommend the raspberry orange limeade.

I had the cob salad and lemonade. It was good. It was not a normal cob little heavy on the salad but some people like that. The dishes we all had were good little heavy on the spices/heat. Friendly people served during lunch and was timely.
