I used to go the gym but I still felt very stiff in my body.  I had pain in my fingers and the bottom of my feet.  My body felt very stiff and heavy.  One day my friend introduced me to Tacoma Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi and within one month my body and mind are getting stronger and lighter.  Usually when I wake up I feel so tired, but not anymore.  Also my face used to be swollen but also that has improved.  In the class we do stretching, body tapping and we learn special breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation.  Through the class I feel more full of energy.  I feel this place helps body and mind together, not just physical.  Even today I went there and I wish many people will try and experience the good feeling that Body and Brain Yoga provides.

I had a stressful time in the summer with moving, child's wedding, relatives from afar and so on.  After all that was done, my mind cannot shut off.  From a recommendation I find this Body and Brain studio.  I made a quick decision that this is the right place for me to join a 6 months membership.  I first thought I would go 3x a week or so, but after my 1st class, I just love it and every morning I look forward to start the day with the exercises, exceeding my expectation and go 4-5x.  The instructors and the members are all so friendly and caring.  The studio is cultivating a sense of community which I think is very wise to have the like minded to be supporting each other.  I know body and mind connection for a long time.  But being a holistic nutrition consultant I had used too much of the mind to care for others and neglected my own body.  Master Sky and other instructors taught me and really keep reminding us bringing our focus back to be aware of the body - be it in pain or feeling relaxed. Emptying out useless thought is a must to rebuild health and our "circle time" sharing all speaks of how good we feel after the class.  I encourage you to try out.

I joined Body and Brain 2 months ago and it has changed my life both physically and mentally. I have a medical diagnosis that doesn’t allow me to exercise in a conventional way, but Yoga has provided an awareness of my body and a mindful way of recognizing my condition. I am so thankful I found this loving supportive environment.

This is a  beautiful place to be. It is a holistic approach to healing your body. I am among one of the younger members, but I feel welcome by everyone and feel fortunate to have access to such an amazing experience. Body and Brain can be a challenge emotionally, but it is a good challenge because it allows you to explore and release negative energy that is weighing you down. No matter your age, I strongly encourage coming at least once for a one on one if you are even a little bit curious. I feel so completely seen by the Masters' and some of the longer standing members. (They really take the time to care for you.) I have only gone to four classes (in the last week) and I already feel a difference. I am more aware and present in my body. I feel more capable of being wholly present and I am able to breath from my chest and actually feel my rib cage expand! ( I did not even know my rib cage did not move when I was breathing until I came to Body and Brain.) Seriously, give it a chance. Your whole being will benefit.

Best workouts ever. Stretching, Thai Chi, tapping and free dance movements. Loving supportive instructors make you feel welcome.
