One of my favorite places in eastern Okla. The river is sweet below the dam. The cabins at the Park are rusticly good. And, the golf course down the road in making a comeback

As a new resident to Tulsa OK, my family took me here for a reunion. We camped over night in a tent and had a fabulous time swimming and melting smires by the fire. Our relatives stayed in a cabin and they are super comfortable.

New Comment 3.14.18: I found two tiny ticks on me a week after we returned. One didn't leave a spot...but one did and the doctors were concerned I could be infected with Lyme disease. Better safe than sorry. I spray for mosquitoes...but didn't think to spray for ticks. Bad mistake. It was cool/jacket weather...but the ticks were out. Make sure you spray and look closely for ticks. I showered everyday and took two hot baths before noticing....so it can happen to anyone.....I'm on 2 weeks of antibiotics.....hopefully nothing serious. Previous Review: We were not familiar with Tenkiller State Park, but purchased 50% Groupons for a two night stay. Glad we did. Cabins were fine with comfortable beds, fireplace and The kitchen was stocked with utensils, pots & pans, etc. There were some sounds that resembled gunfire or mortar fire... but we think it's part of the dam Power Station. Park Rangers said they don't have many people visiting from Dallas. Ok by me! Groupon is a great way to explore new places without being cost prohibitive.

Lake Tenkiller state park has cabins for rent with fully stocked kitchens, just bring your own food. They also have wood burning fireplaces, walking trails, boat ramp, swimming areas, a restaurant in the harbor. Right across the road is Big Daddy's restaurant with a great buffet or order off the menu.
