I have very fond memories here. My family and I would camp here often growing up. I've been enjoying the park off and on for 27 years now. Now that I'm married and starting a family, I look forward to creating my own memories here. Some highlights of the park are the camp sites, hiking trails, nature center, horseback riding and the lodge pool. It's a very clean and beautiful park with lots of deer and other wildlife. A few of the older trails are overgrown, but I've hiked them so many times, I know the route. The last few times I've been the fishing has been spotty. Could've just been the time of year though. I love Sequoyah State Park!

I love this park. I have enjoyed it now for 16 years. I especially enjoy walking the paved trail and taking pictures of wildlife - see my butterfly pictures at the Nature Center. I am very disappointed in the decision this year to charge a "pecan-picking permit". Please beware that there is a $15/day permit required to pick up pecans as per multiple signs posted all over the park, especially around the golf course. I feel this will reflect poor PR for the management of the park. I have watched as every year many seniors come to pick up pecans. They usually stay only a couple of hours and do not interfere with golfers. I myself come after work when most golfers are finished for the day. Whatever the reasons, this will only hurt the park's reputation.
