About

Historic Greenleaf State Park is located in northeastern Oklahoma.
Open year round, recreation includes fishing, hiking, swimming and much more.

Story

Tucked away in the hills of eastern Oklahoma, Greenleaf State Park offers spectacular scenery and is a family-friendly state park. The 565 acre park includes the 930 acre Greenleaf Lake. Greenleaf State Park offers cabins, campgrounds, family recreation facilities and nature hiking trails. The lake cabins and other facilities at Greenleaf State Park were built in the 1930s by the Works Progress Administration (WPA). The original buildings, constructed of native stone, remain a lasting and beautiful tribute to those who built them.

The park has 16 cabins with bathrooms, kitchens with full size appliances, heat and air. Dishes, cooking utensils, linens and towels are also provided. There are fireplaces in 10 of the cabins. All cabins have satellite television. The cabins are approximately 350 square feet in size. The park also has the "Cabin on the Lake," which is a handicapped accessible cabin designed to meet the challenges of the physically disabled. Pets are allowed in all cabins for a small nightly fee. Firewood is available for purchase and firewood is not provided to cabins. A total of 14 cabins will sleep up to four guests, one cabin will sleep two guests and one cabin will sleep up to eight guests between two bedrooms.

In addition, the park features 100 RV campsites, some with 50 amp electric and full hookups, as well as 100 tent campsites, a community building, pavilion, enclosed shelter, outdoor shelter, 18-hole miniature golf course and laundry center. Guests will also enjoy the swimming pool (in season, closed Wednesday and Thursday), swim beach, amphitheater, discovery center (seasonal on weekends), playgrounds, hiking trails, volleyball courts and basketball courts.

No jet skis or wave runners are allowed on Greenleaf Lake. The kids' pond allows children 16 and under to fish at no charge with no permit required. Located in Braggs, the park also offers abundant wildlife viewing.

***NOTICE*** The Ankle Express Hiking Trail (18 mile hiking trail) will be closed occasionally for hunting and military maneuvers. Please call before planning an overnight camping event.

***NOTICE***Due to winterization at Greenleaf State Park, the Multi-Use Meeting Facility (laundry, game room, meeting room) and both the Cypress Ridge and Gobbler Ridge RV campgrounds will be closed from December 1 to March 1 annually.

We really enjoyed taking our family here for a night of primitive camping! The sites were good size and not expensive at all. There were some cool things to do with kiddos, ours was 3, and plenty of things to forage for fire! We will be back for sure.

Loved the state park. Enjoyable place to pitch a tent or rent a cabin. Will bring my boat next time.

Beautiful park. Great for kayaking. Spot was advertised as full shade but was instead full sun. Wish there was a better swim beach. The one that they have is small and not very well maintained. There is a pool, but we don't go to the lake to swim in a pool.

Stayed here august 14-18th. We stayed up on gobblers ridge. It was very quiet, saw deer, birds, and turkey. We took the kids to the discovery center, fishing, mini golfing, and hiking. We had a great time and hope to return.
