Story

We opened our doors on March 20th, 2015 with our first exhibition BODY WORLDS.

For almost 13 years we were known as the Austin Planetarium. We traveled around the central Texas area with our mobile planetarium doing shows, events, and outreach programs. In March 2015, we set up in an interim facility in Cedar Park.

It is our vision to create a world-class, destination science and technology center where curious minds of all ages come from across Texas and around the world to discover the great knowns and unknowns of our universe.

We are still very young, and still have a lot to do. But everybody on staff is incredible and very dedicated to the museum. We all believe that a strong appreciation and education of science makes for a better society. So we are doing our part to bring informal science to the community and culture of central Texas.

Come see us, and support us as we learn and grow together!

Mission

Our mission is to ignite curiosity, embrace imagination, expand understanding, and build a community for science and technology in Texas.

This is a good start for a science museum. They utilize traveling exhibits and don't seem to have stationary exhibits other than the planetarium. What many people don't realize is that membership has reciprocal rights with many science museums across the country. It's a great gift, that keeps on giving. Go on vacation out of town and you can visit the local science museum. If they receive local support they will be able to grow into the science museum suitabke for Austin.

Way overpriced. It seems if they charged half of what they charge people would leave more fair reviews and they might have more customers. I've paid what I paid today at science museums in Houston. I think NASA is actually cheaper!!

Best and only museum option I know of for RR, CP, N Austin as it relates to science and technology. Only giving it 4stars because you can tell it hasn't hit it's full potential quite yet.. but it's definitely on its way. Had a great time with my son, will definitely be going back again soon.

This Museum is definitely small however we knew that going in and were not expecting a huge interactive Museum. Knowing that this was a small Museum due to the fact that they are fairly new and growing was an appeal for us because we wanted to support them. My kids have been to larger Museums several times and they still had a blast here! We originally went for the King Tut exhibit however it was no longer there but after I told the staff how obsessed my daughter was with Egypt the woman running the planetarium show catered to her and incorporated some facts about Egypt. My favorite part of this experience was how dedicated and passionate the staff was about providing the best experience for our whole family. Every one was extremely nice and informative I feel that the staff made this experience more personal than I have ever experienced from the larger Museums. We were thankful for the opportunity to support this place and I encourage those who want to have a larger Museum available in their community to do the same so that they can continue to expand. I have no doubt that this facility will continue to improve and grow, we will definitely return if we find ourselves in the area again! Thank you to all of the staff for your dedication to providing this experience and education to families and for exceeding our expectations!!!

Kids loved wandering through dinosaur and butterfly exhibits. Older son loved planetarium. Bit too advanced for younger son. Second time we visited.
