Took my 2015 Star Raider in for a tire change. When I picked the bike and got it home I notice the rim had one big chip and several on both sides. The manager Craig stated that he knew they damaged it. Even tho he admitted they knew about the damage they still let me take the bike home. He even admitted they used non coated tire tools on the rim while changing the tire. So, I took the rim off my bike and delivered it to him so he could send it to CoachWorks to have it refinshed. When I picked up the rim at Texas Yamaha south, it was not back to factory quality. You can see where they did half ass touch up and there were now scuffs on the inside of the rim. When I pointed this out to Craig he told me point blank, "that's all I'm going to do for you". I'm currently waiting on a call back from Yamaha corporate after they talk to Craig. Not blaming all of Yamaha dealerships, just saying the one in Texas city don't use proper tools, use shady 3rd party paint shops, and they certainly don't care about their customers.

On or about Sept 19th. I called Gulf Coast Yamaha dealer in Texas City and spoke to Greg. I told Greg I had a v star 1100 that I believed needed to have the carbs rebuilt. Since it had been sitting up for a few months. I told him what it was doing and he agreed. He gave me a price of 239.00 labor plus parts. He said parts, if it needs em might run 100.00. The price sounded fair. Since it was my brother's motorcycle, I arranged with my brother to borrow a trailer and get it over there on Sat Sept 24th. I reminded Greg when we got there of our conversation and reconfirmed his labor and parts estimate. He agreed. I reconfirmed the estimate of $239 labor plus parts that might be as much as $100 bringing to the cost to $300-$350. I told him that price was fine as all I had to spend was $400. The following week I get a call from Matt telling me that it needed to have the carbs rebuilt and the total cost is $428.00. He said Gregg was off on his labor cost quote. Since it was a pain in the ass to borrow a trailer and get it their I told him to go ahead and fix it. When my brother picked it up two days later I let Gregg know on the phone I was not happy and I would never use them again. He threatened to charge me for the fuel they put in my brothers tank after draining the old gas out and it was an extra $80 to do that. I said an extra $80 to turn a petcock? He said we had to take the tank off. Now, the thing is, you have to take the tank off anyway to work on the carbs. Of course he wasn't sure about that. But, I know for a fact, you do. Basically I feel like, they knew how much I had to spend and they, as I told him "squeezed that and a bit more out of me". My advise. Be very careful if your considering using these guys. I personally won't. I don't do business like that.

Customers first right? So here is a summary of my experience with these guys. I moved to Galveston and needed tires on my 2006 V-Star 1100 which I had had for over 2 years without issue. After they were replaced I drove 80 miles to my sisters house, bam, the driveshaft broke. I had my bike towed back to the shop and they said that it would take $3,200 to fix it and even then they might not be able to, so the bike was left with them. Two days later my dad and I returned and bought a BRAND NEW Star 1300 for $11,000 and my dad got himself a used bike they had there as well. During the sale of my NEW motorcycle they told me that they would organize a way to deliver my old, now useless, motorcycle to my place about 14 miles away in Galveston. Throughout the next 4 or 5 months we spent money on oil changes and I bought a $380 back rest from them, and every time we went they asked over and over about when we were picking my old motorcycle up(when they didn't honor their agreement to be able to deliver it when I bought a brand new bike from them). We also both got the feeling that there was some hostility between them and us and I hated going there due to feeling like they didn't want us there. My dad was there to drop off his bike and I went out back to look at my old bike, when the salesman came out and asked me when I was going to pick it up. Upon my reply of how they had said they would deliver it he went to his truck and hid in it so I couldn't continue the conversation. They did finally deliver my bike to me today though, when it broke down and has been there since May. Today my dad and I went to the Texas city location to pick up his bike that needed some service and were greeted with confrontation about an email I had sent Texas Yamaha about the whole situation and was wondering if I could have anything done about the bike that was shortly ruined after a tire change from this place. Ultimately it ended in me walking out with nothing nice to say and the mechanic (who had recently been very nice and pleasant towards us) yelling at my dad and acting "extremely condescending" in my fathers words to the point that my dad came to me in the parking lot telling me, "I think the mechanic wants to kick your ass!". I just wanted to see if I could get any help with my old bike seeing as how it seems too coincidental that they did work on it and now its useless. My effort was ended with confrontation and explanations to why I am wrong. To me it just seems like ever since I questioned what happened with my drive shaft they have been very short with me and made it clear that we weren't there as a customer but as a walking dollar sign. This is a chain store with the ones in Pasadena and Webster and I would advise (from my personal opinion) to drive elsewhere to get service done.
