This store has a nice selection of shoes but their sales staff is lacking in professionalism and experience.  There is one older experienced gentleman who immediately comes over to you to measure your foot before requesting a size.  This method works and what I did expect on this visit, Dec. 2017.  The young sales rep waiting on me did not answer my questions nor make an attempt to measure my foot.   Resulting in a bad purchase of $225 boots, which are too small.   I expect the staff to do their part in at least measure my feet and providing some actual responses to my questions.   When I called the store the next day the woman barked at me saying this was my fault and so on.  Women especially know a 7.5 size can be adequate for one style yet not another.  I will not bother to make a trip to The Barn again when I can get shoes online with better customer service.   Isn't that the whole point to purchase locally to get better customer service?

Always a convenient place to see a wide variety of shoes at (I think) a competitive price. I always gi here for Ecco shoes.  Wait staff very attentive and helpful. This place has been here for years and feels like one of those out of the way places up in Maine, but it's right here in Newton.

I came in to get shoes for my sons- they needed dress shoes- 1 son is 9yrs old, the other is 2yrs old. They had 1 pair for the older son, and nothing for my toddler. Tons of girl's shoes, almost nothing for boys. Very disappointing. They said its a buying/stock issue, but I've heard from other people that they just don't sell stuff for younger kids.

I would have given 5 Stars if it wasn't for the customer service being non existent. Great place great prices awesome selection and just terrible interaction. 3 employees who didn't say 2 words outside of answering a question on shoes.
