The Bears Den is quaint restaurant that serves southern inspired food. 3 of us dined and ordered a variety of foods. Fried Chicken, Meat Loaf, Baked Chicken, String Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Greens, Rolls, Corn Bread and Heavenly Mac and Cheese. Everyone agreed that all the food was excellent. We were greeted by Ashley, who was warm and friendly. She also served us along with a young lady named Ruth. Both ladies were wonderful. We ate in the seating area outside. There is plenty of seating space inside with a climate controlled atmosphere. Overall, this is a Great spot for some really good food, great service and a great atmosphere. We highly recommend.

This place is without question worth all of the hype. Went for the first time and was told this was the best place to get southern food - with the warning that it was so good you may over-eat and fall asleep in the afternoon. They weren't kidding. I had the chicken, black-eyed peas, and macaroni and cheese, with cornbread. The chicken and black-eyed peas were great. But the start of the show was the mac-n-cheese. Seriously, I don't know if I've had better mac-n-cheese anywhere, and I eat good food regularly. To give an idea of the quality of food, I was skeptical of the cornbread given that (a) I'm not big on bread and (b) it was pre made and wrapped in wax paper and came out of a drawer. But even the cornbread was really good. There aren't many places I would co-sign to this degree, but unless I was there on an exceptional day, I doubt you could ever lose with this place. I'll be going back every time I come to Macon for sure.
