We are an owner operated professional bicycle business with over 30 years experience to solve your cycling problems and address your needs. We specialize in fittings of road bikes, tri bikes, tandems and recumbents for your unique personality. You will deal directly with the owners, Jim and Lisa, for professional sales and service and "attention to detail".
We carry Co-Motion bikes and tandems, MOOTS gravel, road and mountain bikes, Bianchi bikes and Easy Racers recumbents.

I have been dealing with Jim at The Bicycle Shop for little over one year.  I originally went to Jim seeking information on what was involved to have a touring bike built from the frame up that would be suitable for cross-country riding.   My original focus was on an upright frame I had purchased for this purpose.  My knowledge of bikes, gears, gear ratios, brakes and fitting were nominal.  I found Jim to be an extremely knowledgeable individual about bikes who also had personal experience with cross-country biking that added much to the multiple discussions we had.  Jim was very understanding and patient with my many detail questions, calls, and visits during my decision making time period which turned into a rather lengthy process and a detailed build parts list to get the bike components I was looking for.    Long story short, in the end I made a decision to go with a recumbent bike which meant even more discussions and decision making starting from the frame up.  I feel Jim helped me to reach the best decision for me and the biking I am planning on doing.  Never did Jim show frustration rather Jim always made me feel welcome and treated me more as a friend then a customer.  I was and continue to be very pleased with the bike that Jim built for me from the frame up.  Jim, thanks for a job well done!!
Since my purchase over a year ago, I have been very pleased with the service that Jim provides after the sale.  He is very a knowledgeable, sincere, and honest individual.  He takes pride in his work and is willing to discuss options and leaves the final decision to the customer. I have found Jim to be very easy to work with and will be dealing with him on my biking needs in the years ahead. He continues to make one feel welcome and is willing to stop what he is doing to address questions, needs or repairs.  I highly recommend The Bicycle Shop to anyone who is seriously interested in biking.  You will not be disappointed!

Thank you for all that you did for me to make my Ironman Lake Placid such a success! Your outstanding service to people and your extreme attention to detail on my  Guru tri bike helped my bike on the Ironman run smoothly without any glitches! .... Canton is extremely lucky to have your shop in the Hall of Fame City.  Keep up the amazing work and huge KUDOS to you and Lisa.  Ride ON!!!!

Less than a 24 hr turnaround for new tires on my bike. He gave me advice on how I could inexpensively make changes to my existing bike rather than buying new and his prices are as good or better than buying online.

I have know Jim for over 15 years and would not trust anyone else with my bike service and purchases.  My entire family has purchased bicycles from Jim because he takes the time to not only properly fit you for the bike that you need but purchase the bicycle that best meets your needs.  I am currently stationed overseas and still have Jim take care of my bicycles.  This is an A+++ run bicycle shop! I would strongly recommend him to anyone who needs expert advice on any bicycle or service... Keep up the great work and thank you!!!!
