Story

What is the Children’s Museum of Wilmington?
You won’t find any off-limits exhibits behind glass cases here—everything at the Children’s Museum is hands-on and built for learning through play!

Join your child in exploring our exhibits and learn together. We have 4 floors and 17,000 sqft of indoor space. There’s something new to discover around every corner, such as our Magnetic Minds Science Center, our giant Pirate Ship or even the Teddy Bear Hospital. Take a ride on our Air Chair or participate in one of our daily programs.

Come visit us today to give your imagination and sense of wonder a workout. The Museum is recommended for children ages 0-10 (children under 12 months can always play for free).

As a non-profit we rely on donations to continue our mission and provide a safe and fun place for kids to learn through play.

We love this museum. My daughter (20 months) could stay here for hours. Lots of activities from climbing to arts and crafts. We come every time we are down for a visit

My children had fun and there was a lot to do. They had the most fun outside and in the play grocery area. Any tickets purchased covers the whole day, so you can leave and come back if you need to. The staff was friendly. Despite there being bus loads of children there on field trips, you barely run into other children because the place is so big. It could be cleaner though and I don't think adults should be charged admission. It would also be nice if they had their own parking lot.

Age 6 is a better max age range. The different concepts for example teddy bear doctor, dentist office, grocery store, art, science are divided up nicely and child appropriate, but getting worn out. The staff was friendly and I saw them checking exhibits several times to clean up what visitors had not. Parking availability was terrible, we found the parking deck and walked a couple blocks over.

They need to add more thing to make the kids explore. Add more science and history to areas. Also have guest do surveys so they can get more input to what kids would like.

It was a nice outing with my 6 Year old. She really enjoyed it! We stayed 3 hours. Some of the exhibits were tired and needed a face lift.
