The restaurant had an awesome atmosphere and friendly service. The food was really stood out too. It was good seafood, done simply buy really well. We had a group of 5 plus a baby and everyone enjoyed the food and the time. I had the soft shell crab and can highly recommend it.

The Crab Cooker is the first restaurant I ate at when I moved to California. Nothing has changed in 40 years. The same menue and the freshest sea food on the planet. It's a New England style with paper plates.  A friendly atmosphere. Parking can be a challenge but it's worth it.

You can really smell the ocean here because that's how fresh the fish is. It's a real down-to-earth place to get the freshest fish.  Want to take some home? They also sell sea food and fish so you can prepare it at home.

Pricey, but good.  

I think the best description of this place is what my wife said, "good comfort food😊"
The food quality is great and very fresh,  but the portions and food presentation are unique.   Almost everything is a kabob.  The clam chowder is different, but very good.  I can see why the locals love this place.  It has a lot of neat history and appears to be very consistent.  we lucked out and got there just before the dinner rush.  People were lining up to get in.  The service was good  and old fashioned with bus boys and everything on stand by waiting to help.  Our waitress was very sweet and attentive. 
We had 7 in our group and with tip spent  a little over $200.   We'll worth it.   
This was a great end to our relaxing day lounging @ Newport Beach 🌊.

This place is one of my favorite restaurants. They serve all seafood, two different beers and wines. Everything is served on paper plates and the place has not changed in over 20 years.... that being said, the food is great. If you love seafood, you have to try The Crab Cooker. #LocalGuides
