Do NOT go to their urgent care clinic on L St NE. I went there in December for a cold that I thought might be strep. I paid out of pocket same-day. Services were fine, no complaints and the doctor was nice. However, 4 months later I got a bill even though I had paid for everything. I've been trying to sort out the issue with GW Medical Faculty Associates for 3 months now with no resolution, every customer service rep tells me a different story. Their billing department is a nightmare and the hassle of it means I will never return to that facility.

The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because the residents/interns who are GW students and the doctors here are very nice and friendly. But their office staff and the nurses/physician assistants are downright horrible. One PA actually told a patient that he needed to turn his paperwork into the front desk before he could come back to get his vitals checked and he proclaimed that he had just finished it when she called his name. She then told him to watch his tone, to which he told her to not get an attitude. They argued the whole time. When it came time for me to be seen, I got the same woman. While she wasn't too confrontational with me, she did have a horrible tone and was very impolite the entire time. But, once I saw the intern and the Doctor, I was fine and it was pleasant. Train your medical staff on how to be polite, engaging and welcoming to your patients. Without patients, you wouldn't even exist.

So filthy. My 85 year old mom and I had an appointment at 1:45 and now is 3:45. When asked when the doctor will come I was told "I don't know "

My experience with the doctors is good (had one child with them, now seeing them for #2). The office staff at the 22nd and I (or Penn Ave) address have been surly in my experience to the point where I detest speaking or having to interact with them at all. With my first pregnancy, I often had to wait a long time at this particular office, and it's quite crowded. The office staff at the 2300 M st location is lovely, and I've had zero problems there. I believe most or all of the doctors have appointments at each facility, so I've made it a priority to schedule all my appointments at 2300 M st. this time around, and things have been great.

This place makes it really difficult to talk to your doctor. They will only let you leave a message. I was in the office waiting to see my doctor and the staff would not let me see her for technical reasons. I called them on the phone and asked if they could at least call or page the doctor and tell her that her appointment was waiting in the lobby. But nobody would get off their ass and let her know. They were not helpful in any way and PROUD to be that way. I wrote my doctor a full page letter explaining the situation and asked a nurse (who happen to be walking past) to give her the letter. The doctor called me a few minutes later, but it was too late because I had already left... after waiting over 1 hour. The staff doesn't take an oath to help and heal, so they just do give a damn. It was either that or they're just racist.
