Story

Pete Vomvolakis and Austin Welch, with the help of hardworking and supportive friends and family members, have transformed an original 1930's Aptos home into a beautiful new restaurant and bar. Pete and Austin have both worked in the local restaurant industry for years and are well known in the community. The Hideout will serve classic and updated American comfort foods: delicious appetizers and small plates to share, soups, large salads, sandwiches,burgers, hearty entrees-- something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you at The Hideout soon!

Cozy little restaurant with great service. I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the patio has views of redwoods. The service was really friendly and very attentive. Our server always made sure we weren't forgotten, even when the kitchen got a little behind. The menu has a good variety of choices and the prices on most items are pretty fair. I would highly recommend the beet salad which comes with a mixture of red and golden beets, arugula, and goat cheese. Very good. I enjoyed the pesto chicken alfredo pasta. Nothing that totally knocked my socks off, but it was pretty decent in my opinion. I would definitely come back and try more things off the menu.

The service and food were good.. They could work on their alcoholic drinks since it is a full bar. Overall my experience was good and would recommend this restaurant.

One of my Favorites! Consistent if not better since day 1! Love the staff, they take great care of me and Yes I love being a regular:)

Very cozy old restaurant, with very nice dinner options. Has beer and wine, but no full bar. Parking is not too bad.

Cozy, popular, dog friendly restaurant right outside of Aptos Village. Great service, great food, beautiful deck & lovely interior. I had the Pressed Cuban sandwich, which was delicious & the rest of my family greatly enjoyed their food as well. Heaters by every table outside, making it even better in chilly Aptos evenings. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend!
