Home Depot is barely passable for cheap carpet, barely passable for online orders of building supplies, and a passable destination for paint matching for small projects. If you love Home Depot you are probably comparing it to some other big consumer hardware supply store where they know how to merchandise properly & you are really just expressing a love for the color orange. Big box hardware stores with an apparent little of everything is a retail model which exploits the consumer and celebrates homogeneity. Ace, in contrast, has some sub-brand locations which are EXCELLENT for emergency repair work and small jobs. Those stores cover the "a little bit of everything" box nicely. If you don't have an emergency, shop around. Small domestic lumber yards, estate sales, salvage resale businesses... these are amazing.

I had to order a "special" part for a door (a window with blinds). I took more than 20 mins to find the part on the in store computer. Once the part was order, they informed me that the part will take 1-2 weeks to arrive. The part too more than 3 weeks to arrive at the store. I called to see if the part was in and informed the gentlemen that I will be in later that day to pick it up. I waited 1 hour, YES 60 minutes for the door salesperson to bring the door part from the storage to the service deck. Even the young lady at the service desk said, "It shouldn't have taken an hour". I WILL NOT be shopping at the Puyallup Home Depot again.

Did not have product I was looking for. This is after I called to check and provided the product name. It was a 30 minute drive and 12 minutes of holding on the phone. The staff was very nice face to face.
