Didn't like the customer service. The guy whom I asked to help me with lumbar and cutting, disappeared for 10 minutes, only to come back and ask again what I needed help with. It took about 40 minutes to cut two pieces of lumbar. I am appreciative to the ease and selection this store has when it comes to home projects, just wish the service was better and they helped me bring some of my products out, so it wouldn't have been as tough on my back.

Akhtar was friendly and great at helping us out today! A favorite employee. Update: We spoke with Ian in Paint. It's was exceptionally knowledgeable, very friendly, and I felt like he genuinely cared about finding us the right material for our project.

I've given this store a few opportunities to redeem itself but the customer service is heavily lacking. Store employees are often rude given simple requests. Recently asked if I could quickly grab an item from an aisle they had closed for loading pallets and was told to come back in 20 minutes. I noted I just needed an item five feet away and didn't have time to wait and the employee said, "I don't have time either. Deal with it." Even if the request could not be fulfilled, there was no need for such a rude response. After at least five visits of this type of attitude across various departments, I'm done with this store.

This is by far the worst experience I've ever had at any store, ever. I placed an order for 4 sets of blinds online for store pick-up, thinking it would save me time and I could just grab and go after work. This was done at about 9AM. I received an email stating that most orders are done in 2 hours and that I would receive a confirmation email once my order was ready for pickup. 7 hours later, when I was about to leave work, still no response or word from the staff. I called the number listed on Google and on their web page--no response. I was on hold for over an hour as I drove to the store and even as I walked in. The customer service reps were standing around and talking and provided no explanation as to why nobody was answering my calls. For the next twenty minutes, the rep called around, trying to figure out what was wrong with my order. They asked if these were custom-cut blinds. Nope. Default sizes, straight out of the box. One of the workers from the blinds department even came to the front desk, right across from me, and CALLED ME. Lo and behold, the same store number worked, so I know they didn't change it. They just didn't feel like picking up my calls. It turns out that only 1 of the 4 items I ordered was in stock. At no point, during the entire day, did any of the workers think to call me and let me know. I was standing at the front desk for about 50 minutes, at which time they called a store in Annandale and told me that 3 of the blinds could be picked up there for free. So I got to drive from Fairfax Corner to Annandale at 6:00 PM on a Tuesday night after work. The Annandale location was 100% better at customer service and was able to get me in and out in less than 10 minutes, no questions asked. A trip that should have been a 5-minute detour from my drive home ended up being a 3-hour ordeal. Absolutely horrible.

Getting better than years ago but service remains spotty. Some folks are extremely nice and helpful but often I cannot locate anyone when I have a simple question about an item location. Additionally, some patrons steal parts from the items and the hassle with return trips for exchanges makes this store less cost-effective for me. I remain fairly loyal because few alternatives exist - save for the odd items I purchase at ACE hardware nearby.
