I used to visit Lowes/Home Depot often until I experienced the service provided at Twins Ace in Fairfax. Top notch customer service!  I was looking for the perfect color for our baby's nursery from their Benjamin Moore selection and Tabatha was very helpful in helping us find the perfect color. If you need help choosing from what seems like millions of shades, ask for Tabatha. Her recommendations were on point.

These guys know their stuff and are willing to share their knowledge. Al & John helped me out yesterday. I had a screw stuck in my wall that I needed to move. They helped me figure out what size the screw was, that it was metric not standard, and that replacing it was nearly impossible. So I had to get it out of the wall. They explained how I could get it out, got me the things I needed to get it out, and more importantly stuff to get it back into the wall in the right spot. A project I had goofed up all worked out great thanks to Al & John. You can't get that kinda service at HD or Lowes.

Love this place, a first rate hardware store a 15 minute walk from home. Ample variety of  stock to meet most hardware needs,  but the store is small enough to be in and out in minutes. If an item is not in stock, they find it and have it delivered for pick up in a few days. The staff is great - polite and knowledgeable. Indeed the owners should start a business training staff for other stores, for the staff at Twins are a delight to deal with.

Great place, extremely helpful staff, and a somewhat eclectic selection of stuff make this a great alternative to the big warehouse stores. Great source of Big Green Egg accessories, including lump charcoal.
