This truly is a gem. Food was delicious (brunch: Huevos rancheros for me, and prime rib sandwich for my husband) and the service is always great.

Went here for the first time on a Tuesday evening. Nice crowd, waitstaff was very courteous, decor is charming. Overall, this was a pleasant dining experience, and I will probably return. Bruschetta appetizer was very tasty as was the complimentary garlic bread. Salad portions were on the smaller side, and the Wedge was disappointing - very little dressing and toppings, a lot of lettuce that seemed to have been sitting out for a while before it was delivered to our table. My husband's stuffed porkchop was quite tasty, as were the brussel sprouts (side dish). My order of linguine clams was brimming with clams and was flavorful. Still,  I could have done with just a little less salt all on all the dishes.  When the place is full, it can be hard to hear - a lot of echo-y background noise, but when it thins out to about half of the restaurant, it's very pleasant. Waitstaff is very nice, but the food service was on the slow side. We felt we waited for a long time for an order of bruschetta, and the gap between salad and mains also felt pretty long too. On balance, it was solid, and if you're not in a rush, it's a lovely place to have a satisfying meal.

Little Gem is a great name for this place. Tucked away from the traffic on Lake St. It's a cute little restautant with fast, courteous service, good food and  great atmosphere. Avoid the long lines at the places on Lake St and check out TLG Sunday Brunch between 11-3.
