Story

Loews Madison Hotel is a luxury hotel located in Washington, D.C.HistoryBuilt in 1963 as The Madison Hotel, the hotel was opened by President John F. Kennedy. The hotel has hosted every President of the United States since then. It was managed by the Loews hotel chain for many years until 2010, when it was sold. In 2012 the hotel completed a $22 million renovation project to improve its guest rooms, lobby, restaurant and bar. Soon after, Loews Corp bought the hotel in December 2012 and it rejoined the Loews chain in January 2013.RatingThe AAA gave the hotel four diamonds out of five in 2012. The hotel has maintained that rating every year, and received four diamonds again for 2016. Forbes Travel Guide (formerly known as Mobil Guide) declined to give the hotel five or stars in 2016, nor did the hotel make its "recommended" list.

Pleasant experience in this ornate hotel. Seems to be very popular with tourists and locals alike as it's at a focal point in the city. The hotel has kept its history alive by remaining true to the original design without showing its age. The Hilton staff are extremely inviting and a representative even reached out to me by text asking if everything was alright. The dining options here could certainly be improved and the small lobby can get quite crowded and loud. Otherwise the Madison provides a comfortable stay.

This is a Boutique Hotel that was acquired by the Hilton, so it has that high quality service you can expect from the big chain with the character of a individual/autonomous hotel still around. The room was extremely nice, and unique...thr layout was really interesting and the inside was very posh with full amenities. The bar downstairs has a great, upscale, relaxed vibe to it as well. Service staff was exceptional. My experience was very positive here.

Wife and I stayed at this hotel January 6th weekend. It was extremely cold in DC but thankfully our room was cozy and warm. The room was plenty big and we loved the decor. The restroom was very nice and big enough. The location was great because it was close enough to everything we wanted to see and eat. I loved everything except, the pillows and bed. Especially the pillows though. If you love flat pillows this is the place for you. But if you have anything than an above average pillow at home, you will miss it. The bed was very outdated. I could hear the springs in it. At the head of the bed, you could feel some of them. It was so bad, I bounced back and forth between 3 stars and 4 but I went with 4 because everything else was great. But if this hotel were to upgrade it's mattress and pillows, I would give it 5 stars.

This is a gorgeous hotel. The staff is very attentive. We received an email from the hotel while enroute asking what they could do to make our trip great. They were able to get us reservations for Christmas dinner at a fabulous restaurant, Georgia Brown's. They followed up the second day with a text asking how we were. We'll definitely stay there again!!!

Room was nice. Pet friendly. Continental breakfast offered but not included. Not many vegan options available. Valet was nice but took a long time to get their attention to valet and they took about ten minutes to pull our car around when we checked out.
