My appointment was at 9 am and  was told to come in 20 mins prior to my appointment.  I arrived at 8.40 at the consulate however no one even looked at me until 9 am. Why send me an email then to come in earlier?

Also I didn't find the staff friendly at all. A bunch of unfriendly woman who couldn't even smile.

Excellent service, professional advice, my compliments to a well run office. 
Got passport renewed, questions answered, and was treated courteously, little to no waiting time. Convenient location as well.

You might as well call or email in advance to find out what you need to bring for your passport, because their document checklist online is incomplete. Our family had situations with a single parent, as well as someone else who lost their passport, and none of that was PROPERLY addressed on their document checklist. When we got there, they asked for a bunch of stuff that wasn't on the list. We actually had to show them an email conversation because one family member was almost turned away because the staff didn't know what they were talking about when it came to a lost passport. The list also didnt mention anything regarding mailing the passports, so we had to run all around the city to get shipping labels. The Boston office was much nicer and I wish they had kept it open so I wouldn't have to travel to NYC - taking 2 days off from work and getting a hotel room, only to find out the checklist was incomplete and getting turned away. Wasted trip because of the misleading information provided online.

I e-mailed them as I wanted to know more about passport picture requirements. They e-mailed back within the hour with a recommendation of a place close by. Very helpful.
