Story

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a family owned and operated restaurant, founded in Portland, Oregon in 1969 by Guss and Sally Dussin. The Old Spaghetti Factory is located in the historic Tramway Building on the corner of 18th and Lawrence. Completed in 1889 at a cost of $750,000, our building served the longest continual cable system in the world at that time. Through the efforts of local citizens, the building was saved and has been declared an historical landmark by Denver’s City Council. Nearby you can enjoy shopping and sightseeing at the 16th Street Mall, Larimer Square and the Tabor Center or take in a Colorado Rockies game at Coors field. Where to start? Well let's see.  My family had a reservation here for 8:30. We walked in at 7:00 and were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and had an extremely friendly waiter. He recommended an appetizer and it was absolutely wonderful. We get to the entree ordering and our waiter nailed it. Every order we asked about he knew the details and made sure we would be happy with our chosen meal. They could not serve the hearty version of a certain meal my father wanted and our waiter then pulled some strings in the back and brought the meal out anyway! After I was done with my cream soda he brought me a Pepsi free of charge. He brought us all clean glasses that come with the order of an Italian cream soda and at the end of the meal the 8 year old in our group wasn't sure about the ice cream choices. Our fantastic waiter brought him the other option for FREE. This guy was on the ball. He was everything you could ask for in a waiter and more. The food is outstanding here. Ask for Will.

Always great to go to Spaghetti Factory and we go there many of times when we have some form of Celebration. The food is always spot-on and the salad dressing is one of my faves. It has a lot of character building wise and you can always go in with a group of whatever size you can imagine and they will seat you. What kept me from giving a 5-star this time was the staff. They seemed a little entitled from my view during this visit and I noticed that that is a trend that has building at this location and I wonder if it's sometimes chalked up to the idea of just being downtown Denver. Kind of sad to see considering we've been going there since the 70s and folks used to seem very friendly up until the last 2 or 3 years. Kind of more into themselves and somewhat plastic on the surface as opposed to a genuine welcoming experience we've had historically. Hopefully that will change and we still like going there for the food the experience has changed ever so slightly. We did notice that there was a new one that opened up in Westminster and the people were very friendly warm and welcoming the food was great The View was perfect and the parking was free there. My siblings and I come here every Sunday. The food is amazing, and I love the free ice cream at the end of the meal. The house pesto ranch is beyond awesome too. The only thing I could say is that sometimes i feel like my table is ignored because we're a young group of people. May be that it's also Sunday too so I would definitely still go. They're reasonably priced too.

Worst place I eaten in a long time. The food wasn't even microwave quality. This place was dark and dreary. Way over priced. My girlfriend and I both had stomach aches after eating here. We skipped the free dessert. Positive note was the bread was fresh and good. Everything else disgusting.

Their website allows online lunch reservations beginning at 11 am, however, doors are not unlocked before 11:30 am. Service was fast and the warm sourdough bread was excellent. Lunch menu offers better portions for midday and dinner menu is also available with a wider range of choices. Enjoyed having lunch in the cable car. The brown butter and mizithra cheese entree never disappoints the cheese lovers among us.
