Story

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a family owned and operated restaurant founded in Portland, Oregon in 1969 by Guss and Sally Dussin. Dedicated to satisfying dining in warm surroundings, the San Marcos Old Spaghetti Factory, established in 1996, is located across from San Marcos City Hall. Legend has it that this area was discovered in the 1700’s by Spanish troops chasing horse thieves. The troops named the fertile valleys "Los Vallecitos de San Marcos" and in 1797 it was shortened to "San Marcos." Great family restaurant. A perfect place to bring little ones. There is enough noise that louder children aren’t an issue. They also have a nice children’s menu with plenty of options. Our kids really like the decor (trolley inside the building and old vintage art/furniture)
It’s basically fast food Italian that would probably make hard core Italian food lovers cringe at the thought but i think everything tastes great!

Amazing atmosphere, great service, and delicious food at a great bargain! With any entree, you get unlimited sourdough bread and garlic butter, minestrone soup or a salad, and vanilla or spumoni ice cream at the end! Also, if you get one of the Italian cream sodas you get to take home a special Spaghetti Factory glass at the end! This is one of my favorite restaurants, and it's great for both family outings and dates. The prices are very reasonable for what you get.

This place is super cute and not expensive. I love that all their meals come with an option of salad or soup, bread and a ice cream. The food that’s good. Reservations were made in advance so we didn’t wait too long. But it does seem to get busy for dinner.

First, I called to place a pick up order and the guy was barely understandable. Sounded like he was drunk. He didn’t seem like he knew the menu at all. He did ask our sides. 
I talked to manager who was really nice. 
After everything they still got the order wrong. 
The last two times I’ve been here the wait was long and a lot of tables open. The staff look like junior high kids and that would be ok if they didn’t also act like it. :( Super bummed. It used to be our favorite restaurant in town.

Love this place! My family has been coming here for years and years, and we are always met with friendly faces, warm atmosphere, and (most importantly!), delicious food!! This place holds a special place in our hearts :)
