The Prelude is proudly located in the center of Downtown Harlingen. We are a Guitar Shop | Listening Room | Songwriters Club all wrapped up in one location. For more details check out the info below!

Guitar Shop - Repair, Restoration and Buy/Sell/Trade equipment, Strings and Accessories We are authorized dealers of many guitar brands that are mostly known in the East Coast and New England Area. Every guitar tech has been trained in the basics to advance luthiery with a focus on guitar repair/restoration. We chose to only carry brands we trust and recommend and are happy to introduce brands to the RGV that you won't get access at the nearest "big box" stores. We are a small business, independent and try to innovate as often as the brands we carry with customer satisfaction and one on one service.

Listening Room - A one of a kind live music experience! A "listening room" venue means that when the performers are on stage sharing their original songs and stories, you can hear a pin drop and the crowd is expected to respectfully listen to every word. It is a truly an intimate and unique experience for the performers and the audience! Our dim lighting, professional sound equipment and engineers ensure high value production. The venue also doubles as a casual cafe serving up free wifi, organic coffee, fresh baked goods, and delicious food! Live Music happens every weekend (our weekend starts Thurs - Sun.) and otherwise is just a comfy hangout for study or conversations while we pump Talking Heads or Bruce Springsteen through our sound system.

Songwriters Club - Artist development programs for the working, veteran and aspiring singer-songwriter, including musician-based workshops, guitar lessons, stage performance coaching and our innovative songwriting classes! We love reaching out to our community but we our main purpose is to help the Rio Grande Valley cultivate a singer-songwriter culture offering the tools, resources and information at any level!
