I know that it can be overwhelming to serve a party of 12. Well our server was exceptional! Our drinks were never empty and we never had to ask for anything. I anticipated a long wait for the food but I was pleasantly surprised! Our food arrived quickly and was very good. It was definitely worth the price!

Ate there yesterday for lunch. Service was OK but the food was over cooked. Chicken was like jerky, extremely dried out and burnt.  Baked potato was as big, oh sorry as small as a golf ball and overcooked so dried we actually made fun of it. For selling itself as a steakhouse you'd better get quality cooks to prepare the food and don't use already frozen chicken breast that are less than a 1/2 inch thick. We will never eat there again.  Too expensive for bar quality food. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

We have been here three times during our stay in Ruidoso and enjoyed it each time, especially the Wednesday night seafood special.  Finding king crab legs and lobster in the mountains of southeastern New Mexico is a rare treat!  Both were delicious and reasonably priced, served with soup or salad and a side dish (the Mac and cheese was great with the crab legs).     
Lunch is also very good here.  We both had the French dip half sandwich which comes with soup AND salad--almost too much of a good thing.  Our only complaint was that my husband's
thinly sliced ribeye had a little too much fat for his taste;  mine was fine.

Service was exemplary. We were leaving at lunchtime when a young waiter came rushing out and tapped on our car window.  My husband had unknowingly dropped his wallet on the way out; the waiter literally ran to catch us--greatly appreciated.  Tonight, an older waiter offered to buy us dessert when he noticed my husband's Korean War cap.  It seems his father had served there and would want him to honor another vet.  We really couldn't have eaten another bite but it was such a kind offer.  (In both cases, there was no tip involved as neither was our waiter--just nice people).  We thoroughly recommend Ranchers, one of the few fine dining places in this small but lively mountain town.

Had a great time tonight with the Hubby and father in law. Hostess was very polite and fit us in as soon as she could, and our server Crystal was fantastic. We all had prime rib, ordered rare and it came out perfect. Thanks Ranchers!

I've eaten here in the past.  They make one of the better cocktails in Ruidoso.  The food is acceptable, even better than. 

I'm in town from Pennsylvania for the week this time.  Settling on my recently deceased Father's property in nearby Alto. 

2 nights in a row i arrived approximately a half hour before their posted close time .  Both times we were told they were closed. 

Worse yet, the second night there were multiple patrons still dining when my companion and I arrived. 

It's obvious the staff is just looking to get out early.  If an establishment takes itself seriously, they should provide their  service throughout the posted hours. 

I will never return
