This hospital is a really not funny joke.  Mother has been hospitalized several times recently.  Each time she has had to insist that more be done because doctors say can't find anything wrong.  When pushed they suddenly find what wrong including DVT in arm,  abdominal obstruction requiring surgery,  and fractured vertebrae.  Nurses range from very competent and pleasant to incompetent rude idiots.  Hospitalists seem to be med school retreads. So far they have been unable to write a prescription correctly and they don't respond when pharmacist contacts them. Hospital itself is gross,  would love to culture the grime present in every single corner of the building.  Nurses love to spend time in halls talking about how busy they are, maybe if they did their job they would be less busy.  
While mother in ER spoke to another family. Son with throat abscess took 12 hours for doc to treat, in the meantime left him with no water or fluids and a suction tube to suck out his own pus.  CLASS ACT!
If you find yourself sick in Norwich,  I would suggest you travel to New London or pretty much anywhere else.

12/1, 0k despite shift change. Awesome staff, a few dust bunnies. ER1

12/21 ER4. Dirty floor, metal cup in sink under dripping faucet. Not a nights dirt, its been there a while. Great nurse,rude physician. Small ED should be clean as a first point of contact. Need to post pics.

Good outpatient surgery care before,  but ancillary urgent care was discriminating. 

Suffice to say I go further north.

This review is only for same day surgery. I haven't yet had need for an ER visit, knock on wood. This is my second same day surgery I have had here. Check in is easy and the ball gets rolling rather quickly. There are multiple screens in the waiting room that show the patients as numbers only the families will know. This lets a family see the surgery status updated a lot like a flight in an airport. My wife really enjoys how that is handled. 

The staff is great. Everyone was in a good mood for how early it was and that really goes a long way to helping with the dreaded pre-surgery anxiety. Both before and after surgery I felt like I was in good hands and the staff helped me get oriented quite well as I was coming out of anesthesia. 

As far as same day surgeries go, I highly recommend this location.

Would give 0 stars for my experience in same day surgery. Need to seriously improve your communication skills with patients. You should be ashamed to proclaim that your patients are anything other then a few dollars. I'd rather die on the street in front of this establishent then be treated here ever again.

I don’t recommend the ER as I was having issues and was told to go home and “figure it out” and two months later I was being rushed into emergency surgery at the same hospital for the same issues. My stay there was excellent. My time in ICU I was cared for, I was a bit of a pain because I was in so much pain and tired and upset but they still were kind and worked with me, when I moved to A4 I recieved the same treatment, all nurses and techs were fantastic and did all the could for me. I am very grateful for all the people who helped me heal and got me home safe
