Funky independent neighborhood bookstore. Has a great selection of local history books. Large selections of new/recently published books.  Good travel guide section. Friendly and knowledge staff. Good poetry and lesser known books as well.

three lives bookstore is a life source for me.   I'll gladly pay retail any day to an old school mom and pop bookstore versus giving money to the job sucking "gorilla on the block" known as amazon.  vote with your money.  buy local, read local.

I was in this bookshop when visiting NY cause my favourite author loves the place and i wanted to buy some recomendations here. The girls working hee are so compelling and lovely, they spent like half an hour with me giving me advice and talking about good readings. If i was living in Ny this would be my fav bookshop for sure, is tiny but they have plenty of books, a really good selection regarding race and gender topics.
