Always disappointed when I come here. They are the only hardware store on that side of Waukesha and it's tempting to stop there rather than head to Menards or Home Depot across town. Still, the selection is poor, pricey and if you get cornered by their "helpful" people, probably talked into buying the wrong thing. Save the trip and head towards Bluemound, you're going to be headed there anyway.

OK place, easy in and out - but you pay for it. This place has a limited selection over home depot (obviously) and the prices are about 20-30% higher. The good thing is that Ace Tomcheck is close, has great customer service and a knowledgeable staff. Just about every time I walk in I am greeted and asked if I need help finding anything. You don't get that at the big box stores where you are even lucky to find an employee and even luckier to find an employee that is knowledgeable. While the better customer service and convenience may offset the high prices the only negative experience I continually have is their return process. Occasionally I have had to return an item or two here and every time I have done so a manger has to be called and you have to give a detailed explanation as to why you returning it. The sales clerk has no delegated power to authorize a return. I just don't like being treated like I have in the past for making a simple return either because I didn't need a product or wasn't happy with my purchase.

The moment I walked in I had someone asking to help me. The salesperson knew exactly what part I needed and found it for me immediately. The cashier then was extremely kind and cheerful. I had a very nice experience at this store.

Everyone there is extremely nice and helpful. I would recommend this ace to everyone. It is a little more expensive then your lager chains but I'd rather pay more to have better service.
