Just took my girls there for lunch again today. Best time in my opinion. Never trouble getting a table. Chefs are amazing. Sushi is so good and fresh. I'm from out of town, but when a local friend recommended a nearby place for sushi it was Tomo: what a great call. From the moment we walked in, this place looked like a winner and had everything I look for -- clean, friendly, knowledgeable chefs. My salmon don was made with pieces of pristine pieces of fatty sashimi salmon along with pickled squid and perfect sushi rice. Everyone was happy with the food and service. My only regret is there is no Tomo where I live.
Best kept secret in Tampa for sushi! I have been coming here for 10+ years! Sushi is always fresh. Nothing tastes “fishy”. The rolls taste as good as they look!
WOW! Tomo Japanese restaurant has a very laid back and peaceful atmosphere and beautiful decor. The Bugolgi, miso soup and salad were on point. The bugolgi had good flavor and was not chewy. The vegetables were also delicious and could be eaten by themselves. The White rice was fluffy and soft. We also ordered the children’s chicken teriyaki and it was a hit for both kids. They truly enjoyed the flavor and how soft the chicken was compared to other places we’ve been to. The red dragon roll was perfect and smooth. The gentleman that was serving us was very kind and had great customer service! 5 ’s for sure!
Went to Tomo with a friend and my husband, the service was very friendly and the dining area was casual and relaxed. I tried the Johnny roll, the vegetable roll, the sweet potato roll, cucumber roll, and the spicy tuna tempura roll. All of then were very tasty, except the spicy roll, which was not bad, but didn't really deliver on the spiciness, and was a little greasy. I know tempura is fried but I expected a nice crispy crunch that I am used to in tempura, and this did not deliver on that front. I'd definitely go back, I would just probably not pick any of the tempura fried rolls. Vegetarian options: There were a few simple vegetarian rolls with a vegetable or two, and a few speciality rolls with a mix of veggies. It wouldn't be my first suggestion for a vegetarian, but a vegetarian who goes with friends will have some options.
Delicious food and very clean. I ordered teriyaki chicken and white rice and I don’t know how they cooked it but it was the best I’ve ever had. Very friendly people.
Amazing food. Amazing service. Amazing chef! The Chirashi I got was packed with so much I barely finished it. So full of flavor and so delicious. Now whenever I'm in the area, this will now be my to go spot. Also, ask for the roll with the jalapeño on top I forgot the name of it but that was so good too
The best Sushi place I've ever tried in the US. I'm a Sushi guy, and used to go often to places like Saki, but those are not a real Sushi places, with real Japanese Chef! Sad, because I only got the google notification for this place today, it's been there for 11 years lol ! C'mon google it's 4.6 Stars they deserve better for the quality they offer us! The Staff is very friendly, the food is amazing, the taste is incredible, everything is fresh, like in Japan. And the Chef is so nice! Some people will leave bad reviews because they are gonna say " it's expensive " Let me tell you, it is not! We got so much food for $80 unbelievable... Of course it was our first time, I wasn't ready for the quantity as you can see in the pictures lol! Missing the Ramen Big Bowl on the Pictures sorry So you can easily eat perfectly for 2 with $45 a fresh and real Sushi Meal from a real Sushi Master from Japan. If you are not Happy with the price, it meanz you don't realize, how everything is fresh and and how it is incredibly good, nothing is too fishy, like most of the fake Sushis Restaurants... C'mon look at the pieces of Tuna, they're huge! I will definitly recommand that place! I loved it!
Tomo sushi is by far the best sushi restaurant in Tampa. They have amazing customer service and even better food. Please ask the waiter to recommend you something off the menu. I wanted to try something new and I have a new favorite. If you like something smokey and hot, get the Yellowtail Jalepeño. Absolutely a 10/10. The Sake sampler is also amazziiiiing!!!!
Good quality food and Great Lunch specials. These guys know what they're doing and they're consistent. They have good variety and they handle their fish well. They have delivered good sushi the multiple times I've eaten there. Recommend the Alaskan roll and the handrolls.
