I eat poke a lot, and this is the lowest quality I've come across in town so far. The portion size is a good 30% smaller than you will get anywhere else. The "mango salsa" was just one or two extremely bits of mango almost couldn't find it anywhere. The wasabi mayo dressing is actually just pure mayonnaise as far as I could tell not even the slightest wasabi flavor whatsoever, and the fish was not very fresh.
I have been coming here for about 2 years now and they have slowly been getting worse and worse. Not the best quality fish and 4/5 times the portions are really tiny. Also, twice now that they didn’t actually mix-in the “mix-ins”. I feel like lately I always have an issue here.
¡Caution! when ordering fish products, read other reviews and you'll find there are recurring concerns about: 1. The freshness 2. The taste We've ordered before and after last night the fish product likely caused an upset stomach. Some of these reviews differ in their time frame, which can indicate lack of action taken in response to resolve some possible concerns with this product. Admittedly some people may be more sensitive to fish and the owner/employees could just shine the mirror right back at yayou sure it's not just you?. Not enough to convince me after carefully reading through other concerns in previous reviewers. That being said, just a reminder about ordering raw fish. I usually order the vegetarian poke bowl and it has been delicious every time but I will not dismiss any concerns brought up by my friends, because if you're reading this, you may also notice it too if your body reacts. Just a fair warning and enjoy the food.
They have so many delicious options for your poke bowl or burrito. All the ingredients look fresh and taste great! The pricing is very inexpensive. For the amount you would pay for 2 basic sushi rolls or 1 specialty roll you can get an entire bowl with about 7x's the amount of food! U Poke Spot has a larger variety and better tasting ingredients than any of the other poke bowl places I've been to.
One of my favorite Tampa POKE places...and there are lots to choose from. I love the fresh quality ingredients, the generous portions of toppings, and friendly staff. I hate when poke places give pinches of toppings with their tongs...C'mon now, they're mostly veggies! They are also very clean, sanitary, and take COVID-19 precautions seriously.
U Poke Spot wasn't very busy when I came in. . The employees were very helpful with helping me build my bowl and even gave me a sample of a sauce.The only negative I could come up with is that the rice wasn't my favorite. I prefer sushi rice in my bowls I would highly recommend going here if you're in the mood for a poke bowl! 10/10 would eat again! The Tropical Dragon burrito was massive and absolutely delicious. 10/10 would eat again!
Super friendly staff, great choices for mix ins and awesome meat to rice ratio. One of the best poke places I've been to by far.
Oh, why did I not come to this place sooner ? Funny thing is, I did when it first opened, but was hesitant once I came in and decided to walk out . Well I'm glad I finally decided to give them a try. Their food is absolutely delicious ! Very light and good for the body. You are free to customize your own bowl as I did which I really enjoyed, it was fun and the end result was worth it. All the flavors came together beautifully and everything from the base, to the toppings, to the proteins just really complimented each other nicely. What's even better is that their prices are affordable. I was surprised to see my total only come up to $11.88. For the quality and the portion, it was definitely worth it. I would love to come back again, and I have to try their sushi burrito! I understand this place might not be for everybody, but for those who appreciate this kind of cuisine, you will not be disappointed! P.S the staff member I dealt with was very patient and knowledgeable. I felt like a lost fish when I first arrived, and she even complimented my bowl at the end . Also, cooked proteins available chicken & shrimp , raw isn’t a must !
It is ok place but the main flavor is a fish flavor/aroma - the key ingredient in a poke dish, so we expected to have one but unfortunately the fish part was almost tasteless/insipid. Tomatoes weren't fresh. As to the interior it's a clean and quiet spot.
