I love shopping here, I always go for the Two (now $3) Buck Chuck. It's easy to find last minute meals and they have a small selection of fruits and veggies. I feel like it's super convenient for quick meal shopping. The atmosphere is great and staff are always friendly/helpful. They also put up with the last minute customers, which is a huge plus on them.

Shopping adventure! It's not your traditional grocery store for everyday shopping. The produce is often prepackaged or sold by the piece, not by weight. Some items are there one time and not the next. It has some interesting offerings and you can sample anything if you ask. I think of it as a store for singles. You can find an array of tasty and unusual snacks, appetizers, frozen dinners, as well as some packaged meats and pastas and wine! I wouldn't shop here for regular family meals.

Trader Joe's makes grocery shopping almost fun. On floor help is usually readily available, fresh flowers at reasonable prices are displayed as you enter the store. Don't forget there is a free sample of fresh brewed coffee often in the front right corner. Bottle recycling is onsite. Four handicap parking spaces are across from the entrance.

Great customer service and great products = a great neighborhood shopping experience! I shop at this location multiple times each week. It's definitely my favorite one in all of Portland.

I was waiting in line at checkout when an old, grumpy, impatient, white lady comes behind me. She had two items: a personal watermelon and a loaf of bread. She starts to complain to me about how Trader Joe's needs a "less than 10 item" lane because she is in such a rush. I nod, "uh hm". Then she proceeds to yell at the cashier about why they don't have a fast lane while the cashier was still servicing the customer in front of me. I can tell the cashier was frustrated. Then, she starts yelling really loud at one of the senior managers, "Hey! You! Yes you! You need a fast lane!" The store manager, caught in a rush, said she's sorry the lady was having a bad experience, then carries on. The old lady yells, "See, they don't give a damn about their customers!!!" By this point, the whole store is watching her, annoyed. At this moment, I said to her, "You know what, you only have two items. Why don't you go ahead of me." Kind Smile. Volunteerily moves behind her. Perhaps it was my act of kindness, or perhaps she wanted to go first this entire time, but something changed. She calmed down. She paid her stuff. And walked out in a huff. One of the other senior managers walks over with this bouquet and puts it in my cart while I was paying. She said it's a small gift from Trader Joe's for being good sport and letting that lady go first even though she was rude.
