I should have read the reviews before even trying to call this property management. Communication was poor just trying to schedule a home showing with them. They want you to call them 1 hour in advance to confirm the showing which I was not told the first time so I had to reschedule. When I rescheduled, the agent texted saying they had to give the tenant a 24 hour notice after realizing "she forgot about it" so I had to reschedule to a different day again. The second rescheduled date made me more upset because the agent waited until 30 minutes before the showing of when I called to tell me they can no longer show me the house because an application was put in last week so they cannot show the home once an application was put in. I am frustrated because of the lack of communication and I think it was BS how I was told the application was put in last week, but they just now told me they cannot show me the place 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Thank goodness I am not one of their tenant.

They are the worst people to deal with, Giving them a one is pushing it. they do not call you back, We rented through them, the experience was horrible, they say you owe money on water or whatever else, you pay it, then the bill comes and you have a large credit, they hold your security deposit saying bills aren't paid, you email them the same email you had sent to someone else in the office with payment dates, and authorization numbers, they don't even communicate amongst each other. If something happens on the weekend and they have to go out, there is a fee. BE VERY WISE IF YOU RENT THROUGH THEM, DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DOCUMENT EVERYTHING, RENTER BEWARE!!!!!!!

We currently rent a property from Tradewind, and the experience has been okay. At first, we did the walk through and were fine with the property. We paid to have the background screen done with came back fine, however we were quite alarmed when they demanded the security deposit within 48 hours. We didn't quite have it at the time as we were waiting to get it back from our previous landlord (court ordered) and asked if they'd be willing to wait a week or so until we got our deposit back from our current property. They said no, and we had 48 hours or they'd move on to the next applicant. Wasn't exactly the nicest interaction. The interactions we had with Tradewind before giving them the deposit always seemed rude, ill mannered, and unpleasant. We got our deposit from a family friend and paid it to Tradewind. When we went to move in, the owner of the home was treating (and still is treating) part of our home as a storage locker. He has things in the garage that have been there since we moved in. There were two broken appliances in the basement. Which, eventually got removed. Also, on move in day. We realized that they ripped out the dishwasher (because it didn't pass inspection) so there's a hole in the cabinet space where the dishwasher should go, along with holes in the floor where you can see down into the laundry room in the basement level. The microwave that was there when we toured the house apparently blew, so there wasn't one of those either. The floor in the basement is cracking and chipping off in pieces, and the gutters are a waterfall in front of the door. Despite asking about the repair for both of these things, we haven't heard anything about it, and were told that the landlord had to put a lot of money into the house for us to move in and basically that we just had to deal with it. To this day (5 months later) we still have the owner still has property in the garage, we still have holes in the floor and in the kitchen where the dishwasher should be, the gutters aren't fixed and the floor is still chipping. The blinds and windows are in awful shape. Some other maintenance requests have been fixed (those involving water, minus the gutters), but there are still some that would be nice to have fixed. it's fine for now, but we won't be resigning a lease in the future.

The worst company to rent from, for the MN region. Jessica Martin, and Chad Solum are the worse agents I have ever spoken to. If I could give a negative -10, I would. They have very unprofessional, and incomprehensive people working who probably doesn't earn enough for a living, which would explain the lack of effort in trying to communicate to their renters. My only mistake was not reading the reviews before signing a lease agreement with Tradewind Properties. Do yourself a favor and make sure you read your reviews before making a decision.

I generally don't write reviews but I felt this time it was necessary to share my experience with this company. I didn't have the chance to rent under Tradewind because the application process was a total nightmare. When submitting your application you have to call them to before you pay the application fee. This is great since it would ensure you do not have to pay an unnecessary app fee if someone has already applied. I was told no one had applied and proceeded to submit payment for my app fee. Then within the hour I receive a callback from a different contact saying someone has already applied before I did. Ok whatever, I'm out $45 for the app fee and I thought that would be the end of working with Tradewind. I then get a call a few days later from another different Tradewind contact that the first applicant dropped out for "unknown" reasons and if I was interested I would be next in line. I agreed and my application was processed. After I was approved, I received notice to review the pre-lease deposit and disclosure documents they sent me and sign within 48 hours. I signed the documents on time and sent my pre-lease deposit. Then I receive additional documents asking for my renters insurance and pet policy deposit. This was all done through email, no phone calls to inform me they sent more documents to sign. I have 48 hours again to do this. How many more 48 hour timeline documents do I have to keep signing? I had to check my email every few hours everyday just in case they sent something without calling me.This is where I drew the line. I have rented from other professional companies and only work directly with ONE AGENT who sends me all required documents only ONCE. The process is smooth and easy. With Tradewind you work with multiple people who provide you various bits and pieces of information. Their management is "sloppy" and I felt pressured to conform to this style of management. I decided to pull out of the application process. At this point I was concerned about getting my pre-lease deposit. There is a time frame when you can receive 100% of your deposit back. Tradewind closes on holidays and weekends but the pre-lease document still count those days against you for getting your pre-lease deposit back. Goodluck if the last day to receive 100% of your deposit back falls on a weekend or Holiday. You will not be able to contact them. Luckily I was able to recoup all of my deposit. TLDR; There was a reason why the first application dropped out. There is a reason why I dropped out as well. My takeaway from this is: 1) 48 hours, 48 hours, 48 hours! You only have 48 hours to do everything! Whereas they have all the time as they need to get back to you. 2) You conform to their standards, and they will assist you when they feel like it. 3) Management is sloppy and not consistent. You are provided different information every time you contact them. 4) Get out before it's too late! I can't imagine what it's like to rent with Tradewind when the application process is this bad. 5) READ ALL of the documents word for word before you sign anything. Stay away from Tradewind properties. They are bad. Just stay away, it's for your own good.
