This is my TrAk Athletics “testimonial”. For the record I should say that I’ve never written one before. Wikipedia says ” a testimonial consists of a person's written or spoken statement extolling the virtue of a product.” Okay then. This should be easy. Let’s start with some stats: · Started my 6 week weigh-in: 226 pounds 26% bodyfat. · Finished my 6 weeks 197 pounds 16% bodyfat with visible abs (even though most so-called experts say you can’t see abs at 16% bodyfat, mine were visibly chiseled although slightly covered in hair. If anyone reading this doen’t believe me, message me and I’ll send you a pic of what hairy abs look like (got lots of compliments on them, but I digress)) WOW!!! This really, really freakin’ works. First of all I want to say thanks to the entire TrAK Athletics team for the assistance and encouragement. Especially to King Dave and Queen Lauren Regula for setting up the program and for all the coaching and training and encouragement AND especially for Dave and Lauren’s contagious energy, excitement and passion for life. And to my friends who convinced a perhaps unwilling participant to give it a try with them. To be fair I had seen the amazing progress in my friends – and who wouldn’t want to get some of that? But even so, there is always some lingering doubt at the beginning of a difficult task. And while I was excited and encouraged, I was still a bit doubtful. Everyone’s story is different but mine perhaps sounds similar. I had gotten sloppy and lazy from a fitness perspective. I guess the excuse “too BUSY” is relative, but one I definitely used. Dazed and confused, I found myself at this point 6 months after intensely grinding to get a new business up and running. I found myself 15 lbs. heavier than I thought I should be and not liking what I saw in the mirror one post new year’s morning. An acquaintance of mine also struck a nerve when she commented on me wearing baggy clothes, I had subconsciously been avoiding my fitted clothes because they just didn’t quite sit right on my body anymore. It snuck up on me - too many other things to do, not enough time in the day, food too good and convenient – you know all the excuses. And yes, they are excuses. And yes, it snuck up fast…in a 6 month time frame I went from exercising 6 days per week to exercising no days per week. I also went from being on point with my meal plan 100% of the time to having cheat days as the rule not the exception. As a former highly successful competitive cage fighter/competitive bodybuilder/college rugby all-star/ high school baseball and football standout, I’m no stranger to exercise and hard work and achievement. All my coaches in every sport used to say, Rogers you’re an above average athlete who just outworks everyone. For the first time in my life I was in the predicament of knowing what work to do just not doing it. UHHGGG!!! It was a horrible pit This program shows you the way if you’ve never learned it before, and puts you squarely back on track if you’ve come off life‘s rails a bit or completely ‘trainwrecked’ (where I was). The accountability is top notch too especially if you’re like me and just need someone to “crack the whip” so to speak in a loving way. Isn’t that cool? Well from above we know what I’ve lost – 29lbs. 20 pounds by week 4 weigh in, no weight loss week 5 weigh in (because I cheated on my meal plan), after encouragement and a “loving” slap on the hand from Dave, I got back on track and lost 9 pounds by end of challenge weigh in. And I guess the story could end there. But there’s also a side-effect to this “TrAK Athletics” experience, at least in my case, and individual experiences may vary. It sounds a bit crazy but once again I’m reminded of possibility and accomplishment. Of mental and physical toughness. And of personal responsibility – to yourself. So I’ll say it again – THANKS!
