Unfortunately I cannot rate well as we only passed through for a few hours at night. The campground looked nice and the owners were very helpful however I was alarmed to find out that there are dog breed restrictions in Travelers Rest. Regardless of what type of dogs I have I make it a practice to not support this practice and therefore will not be back through this area. I know the businesses in the area need to comply so this is not reflective of this nice KOA.

This KOA is consistently top-notch. This was my second time staying there and it was wonderful. The cabins are clean, comfortable and well appointed. The two that I have stayed in both had a gas fireplace, full kitchen with all of the necessities (even paper towels!) and a full bathroom. There is ample room in them (queen bed, futon, twin beds in the loft) and one of the two that I have stayed in allowed dogs. The porch is huge with Adirondack chairs and a table and chairs to eat at and a gas grill. The cabins sit along a stream that is wonderful to listen to (provided it is warm enough to have the windows and doors open) and even though the cabins are reasonably close, they feel very private. There is a TV, but I didn't use it once. I'd recommend that anyone planning a stay there brings things like Tupperware and foil, things like that, but really, this cabin has everything. What really makes this place stand apart though is the people. They are absolutely wonderful. The first night I was scheduled to stay this time was on a day that we had a horrible snow storm in CLT. I called (not even considering asking for a refund, figuring it was futile and I still wanted to try and get there anyway) to ask what the roads there were like and the woman I spoke with said that they have been wondering whether I would be coming from CLT and had decided that if I couldn't make it they would not charge me. When I arrived, everyone was so kind and made sure that I was alright. The owner had already turned on the heat for me in the cabin as well. The next morning, I stopped into the office to pick up something and one of the owners came out to open the door and welcome me. Just a really wonderful place with wonderful people. This is my go-to place to get away and would highly recommend it to anyone!

Very nice place. We stayed in Cabin 4 and it was very accommodating, clean, and comfortable. There where activities for kids, and a nice nature walk. I would highly recommend it to anyone else.

Traveling 6 hours and concert was cancelled. We were to stay 1 night. I called 47 hours in advance to cancel. As soon as I found out. JASON said the limit was 48 hours and would not refund my money. Charged me $69 . Very unreasonable. I asked if he would refund if he was able to fill the spot and he said no. Very RUDE. I don't care how nice it is.

The campgrounds were impeccable maintained and the staff was incredibly nice and helpful. We had a tire that was low on air and Jason noticed it as he was filling our propane. He brought down an air compressor and helped us fill it up without hesitation.
