Mediocre is the operative term for this place. Great location, very popular, however, the food isn't great, the margaritas are decent but uninspired, cleanliness is lacking and the service is adequate at best. I sat outside on the patio this visit, there were the food remains of the last guest under my table. A child must have been in the last party because there was rice and chips all over the ground like peanut shells at one of those restaurants with saw dust on the floor. It's called a broom and dust pan, use it. Furthermore, the slotted table had about a half cup of salsa in the grooves. It wasn't very busy, so we sat immediately, but it took about 10 minutes to get chips and salsa and another 8 minutes for our server to show up and ask if we wanted more than water. $78 tab after tip for two lunch entrees a carafe ("pitcher") of margaritas and appetizers, which is to be expected of a downtown "hangout" but take a tip from Crush and B st and have a little pride in your business and job; clean up and be more attentive to your guests, earn your keep. It wasn't even busy.

Really yummy food, a delicious drinks. If you like a good margarita that is the size of your head, I would recommend this place. The food is pretty good, but a little dry for the Carnita's. It's a great location downtown and it's absolutely stunning in the warm weather to eat outside. The staff is always pretty friendly. All-in-all, I really like this place.

Very good and authentic Mexican cuisine. Loved the spicy bean dip and what a tasty chips and salsa. The staff were respectful and friendly. I had the ceviche and it was worth every penny. I will definitely recommend.

Really disappointed in the service. We had to remind the server 3 times that we ordered an appetizer. Then came the hour wait for our food after ordering when we couldn't even find our server to ask for refills on water or soda. She also completely forgot I ordered a margarita, but still charged me for it. The food here is good, but not excellent, and no food would be worth the joke of the service.
A Chico institution you're better off skipping.

Fun place with a great ambiance for a weekend dinner before hitting the downtown strip. They have great drinks and reasonably priced entrees. I recommend enchiladas and the spicy bean dip. Tres is home to the corona-Rita, so do yourself a favor and decompress with a margarita and a corona upside down in the glass to garnish.
