First time I tried their services. It was an excellent experience. The reception representative upgraded the vehicle I ordered because I extended the insurance. The car reception team was very cooperative and went above and beyond to help me so that I could travel safely arrangement of a cellphone holder / installation sockets / Viz direction. Moreover, he was very helpful in locating our SIM card that fell between the car seats. In short, there was a winning team
Actually everything was fine. I reserved a car for 5 days in advance. Check-in was quite fast and friendly, and I've got a completely new car of a higher class. Car return was also simple. In general, I had positive experience. Keep in mind, return point is located on open parking for rented cars, not in paid P4 parking. I'd strongly reccomend to take their insurance called Lazy Pack for ~20 euros per day. Otherwise fines and additional costs could be quite high, and it is still cheaper then in other companies. The only one thing that is not clear for me - cars have Hungarian plates, and additionally you have to pay for vignette
"U-Lose" is a proper company name They offer the lowest prices on Check24 - that is why they deserve one extra star. Everything else was a nightmare in my case. They cut costs on everything: - it is a Hungarian company and you get a car with a Hungarian number plate. Actually it is a pros because other drivers see you are a foreigner :- - bring a good credit card because they will hold 2100€. Top it up if your credit limit is not sufficient. These are condititions one has to read in advance. So other reviews complaining about it are not that fair. You should accept the rules or rent in another place, just be prepared. - there were no navigator in the ostensibly brand new car in 2022!. Be prepared to connect a phone to make a use of your own navi on the car's screen. Andorid and Apple auto work. - we got a half-full gas tank which should be returned also at least at the same level. - the guy accepting a car on the parking lot for returns did not speak German at all and only a basic English. Managers at the counter spoke good. - Now comes the worst part spoiled all impression: they offered me a free car upgrade from the class A to the SUV Opel Crossland X. Thanks for that but... upon return, a guy found a tiny scratch on the lateral part of the door and told we have inflicted such a damage. Finally they charged me 590€ for it. The photo is attached and you can see the scratch is almost invisible. One can get it repaired for 50€ at most. Not to mention we rented the car for 5 days only we are pretty sure we have not inflicted this damage. It is something you would notice. Next time I will capture on video every cm2 carefully. To sum up, I lost almost 600€ just because I have not noticed the tiny scratch upon taking the car. I feel being completely scammed. I cannot prove they use this "upgraded" car to earn money and cheat people, who knows. If you would have to pay for the very same scratch on the right front door on the same Opel Crossland X with the plate AABM-373 please contact me - it will be then a good reason for filling a lawsuit. So, you get what you pay for and be prepared!
I booked directly with them over email and the person answering emails was Anna Maria. She even offered me a discount code which I used. Got a fairly good price in the peak season of December. Otherwise car rentals are through the roof these days! I bought the Lazy Pack insurance which covers all damage and reduces the excess to 0. This is highly recommended, pay extra and take the Lazy Pack insurance!! Finding the car rentals is a bit tricky at Vienna airport arrival, you walk out through a subway kind of passage and then have to go 1 floor up. All the rental offices are here. At the counter, it was again Anna Maria who did the paperwork and gave us the car - a refundable deposit of € 200 was kept on my card for the 5 day rental even though it was paid in full. This was slightly high, maybe € 100 would be a better option? Anyway the deposit was released within a day or 2 after car return. You have to go up to the 6th floor I think to actually pick up the car. Take enough photos if you don't have the Lazy Pack. We got the Opel Crossland with 9,000 km on the dial. It looked in good condition. The car drove fine, no problem. We returned it back in good condition. Filled up fuel from the BP pump inside the Vienna airport and just near the drop off. This was extremely convenient. There's a Billa store also just opposite. TIP - Fill up your car at this BP - petrol was at € 1.48 a litre. Do not fill up at the highway - petrol is at € 1.87 at Autobahn and highway pumps!! Car return is on the ground floor in a large open parking lot. Leave the car and drop off the keys in the box. There was no one to receive the car upon return, but that seems the norm for the other car rentals also. Returned the car and quickly went back up to inform them - and it was Anna Maria again at the counter!! Next caught the train from airport to Prague. Got email and invoice from U-Save while on the train itself! No new charges and the deposit was released. I had a Wonderful experience with U-Save and can recommend them. No problem at all. But buy that Lazy Pack insurance!! Will rent again!
This was the first time and will be my last time renting from U-safe. I booked the car because they offered the best price in the compact class. However upon returning the car they went with a magnifying glass over the car to find a reason to charge for damages and charged me dearly for minor damages on one of the plastic wheel covers I did not make. No fairness or flexibility shown. Will never rent from them again!
I want to commend this car rental company. I was searching for a 7 days rental and all the name brands are very expensive for the days I needed. And I found U-Save, their price is 20% lower. Although their online platform was not very user friendly but when I wrote to their customer help email I was helped quickly. I needed an automatic transmission car which I couldn't get from the platform but Tamas, the representative replied very quickly and had my car confirmed. For the pick up, because my original flight was cancelled and I have been put on another flight which arrived very late at night. I wrote to them again to inform them the situation. Another kind representative Andras, told me that I need to get to the counter before 11pm as they close at 11pm. I got their about 11:15 pm, he was there waiting for me and I got the car very quickly without any issue. I really appreciated the help of both Tamas and Andras! The car was also in good condition. Return of the car was also easy and fast! All the representatives at the return booth are helpful and friendly. I give this company and all the staffs 5 stars rating!
BOTTOM LINE: Keep away from this company. We made a reservation for 2 standard family car, but when we arrived to pick our cars, only one was ready and we had to wait for more than an hour for the second car while crew keep ignoring us and telling all sorts of tails like "Are you sure you've made a reservation for 2 cars?" - of course we are sure. Next, one of the cars had few hits which weren't reported on the agreement form. So I had to get back to their offices with photos I took of the damages, only so they throw several words at me I don't understand, stall me some more and finally agree to sign the damage report and let me go. What a rough beginning. Lastly, it appeared I've may accidentally made a traffic violation. U-Save quickly charges 99 Euros !!!! as an administration fee only for sending your details to the local police. Unbelievable. Thanks for teaching me a lesson though. After reading some other reviews here, I now understand that prices might be relatively cheap but they'll find a way to milk more money from you, for sure. So my advice to you is just keep away from U-Save and have a great vacation with a decent rent a car company. *Update after u-save reply:* U-Save's reply just tells the all story. that's how aggressive their staff and service is, 0 tolerance and understanding. They have confirmed we have waited an unreasonable amount of time between receiving each car they probably also tweaked the times on their system. Lastly, I'm not angry with U-Save, I'm angry on myself, not reading the small letters indicating ridiculous fees.
Car was provided filthy inside and outside and had some small scratches. Had to inform the company ASAP as I heard from many other reviews that they would nickel & dime everything. I returned the car cleaner than I received it. Embarrassing for the prices they charge. At least the Car itself was in very good working condition this is why I give two stars instead of 1 star The biggest complaint is their cross-border fees. Its a real rip-off at 90EUR. Don't rent with this company if you plan to drive outside of Austria. Failure to mention abroad travel will cost you 112.50EUR "as you go" and THEY WILL CROSS CHECK WITH A GPS SYSTEM!!! What a racket, they have all the time/technology to check this but not to even provide a customer with a clean car. Funny part is that most of the cars have a Hungarian License Plate. So if by the policy of the cross-border fees, why do we need to pay for cross-border in Hungary when just the vignette should be enough? Might as well charge it for Austria too, if not already part of the rental fees? Its very upsetting to see crafty crooks in the game here. At least they are open about their outrageous upfront fees : Consumers, please be informed and proceed with caution.
Charged me 469.60 euros for the "scratch" shown in the picture. Is it my bad for not throughly examining the car before I took off? Probably. But I would personally avoid this company at all cost
On a Saturday morning, only one professional, patient and courteous representative was handling customers. We waited quite a bit, and others probably waited even longer. The rented car was clean, and served us fine, though it was quirky to return 5/8 gas tank. Otherwise it was a good experience. No issues on the return.
