The worst place to rent a car. They had hold the deposit. And I called my bank the bank said if the rental car  do not realese the deposit. They could not do nothing. Horrible service!

Best experience I ever had renting a car.  Pleasant and professional.  I went with the information they requested so they could contact my insurance company.  I was out of their office and into my rental in 5 minutes.  The suv was immaculate and they even provide a tag for free vehicle wash at a local car wash.  I left there really glad that I chose this neighborhood business.

Extremely satisfied with Sensible Car & Truck Rental! Very nice people, reasonable prices and quick and efficient business people.  I booked a Uhaul for my move this past weekend . After a lot of back and forth with them about not having a truck even though I booked it a month prior, I showed up to Uhaul the morning of my move and no one was even in the shop and the door was locked during their “open” hours. Luckily, Sensible was directly next door and had a truck available. They quickly helped us out and we were out the door in ten minutes and on our way.  Give the local guy your business. The last thing we needed on moving day was the stress that Uhaul gave us. Sensible Car Rental deserves 5 stars all the way!

Went to return a car 3 minutes after the hour. They screamed at me and told me I had to keep it for the weekend. On top of that they wouldn't give me my deposit back. This was a couple years ago, I have no idea how they are still in business. They'll steal your money and treat you like garbage. Go somewhere else.

This place was so informative and the staff is so nice giving what you need and trusting strangers using their cars... They work with you the best way possible. I would like to thank them all for working out a rental car for the weekend and was very fair with pricing... I believe most negative reviews because if you damage or not return the vehicle in good condition as it was given, they will deduct from your deposit.. This the only place that will allow you to use your debit card and all others need a major card..  Im so grateful for them allowing us to rent with a major card and using their ez pass and not taking advantage of their services.. We will get deposit back soon as they check the amount of us of ez pass....once again I would like to thank Sensible Rental in Bayonne NJ thank you and it was a pleasure doing business with you

I use this company some times multiple times a month. They are incredibly helpful. I have never had any surprises. The price is the price and if you get stuck on the road which I have, they are completely reachable. Professional and courteous, EVERY TIME.

This company is the worse, poor customer service and they are scammers.  Advertise $30 per day on truck, plus mileage, they charged me $125 for the day.  I drove it from Bayonne to Ridgefield and back to Bayonne DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, THEY WILL SCAM YOU ALSO. THEY HAVE ALOT OF BAD REVIEWS

Please stay away from this place. They are fraud. I booked 15 passengers van 20 days prior and the office calls me a day before to confirm it. But then I get a call on the day of to let me know they don't have any vans available.

My Fiance and I rented from this company and I have to say THEY ARE TERRIFIC!!! Selena I hope I spelled her name properly was absolutely charming! She even told me how to use my phone as a GPS instead of paying for one! Imagine that! The cars we've rented were awesome. The customer service cannot be beaten. I wish I could've given10 stars! I especially like how they don't push the extra insurance. She let me know which credit cards have the insurance coverage in their contract. Definitely think about renting from this company. Plus, the gentleman who shows you where the spare tire and demonstrates the wipers, the headlights etc is amazing as well. I also like how they take the pics of any scratches, dings etc. Then, sends you the pics to your phone. Thank You So very much!

I was very disappointed. I rented a 15 passenger van for a week, from Saturday to Saturday. The van was in fantastic shape basically brand new and ran well; everything seemed like it was going fine. My initial experience with their customer service was that they were friendly and polite. They were very helpful in making the reservation and at drop off.  So I was initially very please and I was thinking that I would use them again. However, I got the van back 30 min late from my scheduled time. In their policies, Saturday returns after hours count as Monday returns. So they charged me for TWO WHOLE EXTRA DAYS. According to the contract I signed, that was their legal right. However, I've rented cars/trucks/vans numerous times, and I've NEVER before had a company charge me for being 30 min late to a drop off time. I was doing my best job to return it on time, and apologized when I got it late. The guy at the counter at drop off sounded very gracious and acted like the 30 min was not a big deal. Then they charged my card for the 2 days. Again, they were within their legal rights. They were unwilling to change their charges, saying that they needed to rent  the car that day. That just struck me as funny, as they had about 5 unused vans sitting in their lot. Again, they were within their rights- I was late - but their charges are unreasonable and no one else in their industry is such a stickler. I'm not sure I'll go with them again. They at least could have broken the news to me in person when I dropped the van off late, rather than initially appear like everything was fine and then add a huge charge to my credit card. I still rated them as "good," because technically the didn't do anything wrong and because their initial price was good. However, go with someone more gracious. If you do go with them, just make sure that you follow the contract scrupulously. They will charge you for every bit they can.
